Sandals /Flip Flops

All, I need new sandal/flio flops. My reefs are falling apart. I do NOT care for those, my toes would “scrunch” up to keep the sandal on my feet. So no Reef recs please.

Had considered Crocs, but want to see if there is something with less ‘drop’ but as comfortable as Crocs. I’m not even sure if drop matters with sandals.

Not too concerned about looks. Also, not too interested in spending $150 on them either.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.

These are a bit more structured/durable, but are my goto post race sandal: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/the-north-face-el-rio-ii-sandal-men/3364923?origin=category

Cushe is very Crocs-like, but with a canvas upper. Kinda like Crocs and Toms hybrid: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/cushe-surf-slip-on/3233998?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=BLACK&resultback=5104&cm_sp=personalizedsort-_-browseresults-_-2_16_C

I miss my Rainbows. I need to order a pair. Enjoyed them much more than my current Reefs.

Chaco. Best flops ever.

I practically live in flip flops (slippers). I’m either wearing work boots or flip flops. I have tried dozens of them. Not just try at the store but I have bought and used long term dozens of sandals. Believe it or not, Locals are the best. I wore these exclusively for two months in mainland Mexico and they performed better than anything I’ve ever worn in the tropics. A pair will last me a year or more of everyday wear. I walk in them for miles at a time…

Buy them small (so your heel is just about to hang off the back). You might hate them at first but once you get used to them you won’t find anything better. I own Chacos, OluKai (two pair), Hurley Phantoms (almost really good but they stretch out). The best are my cheap ass Locals…

PS: Heat them up in the sun when you first wear them. They’re a little softer that way.

They are called jandals here in Middle Earth…

Spend the money and get the best, you won’t be sorry.

I used to be a flip flopper until I found the Cushe Slipon. If I’m not at work or working out they are the only thing that I wear now. Absolutely love them. They are so incredibly comfortable.

Looks like many of the flip flops suggested are ROUGHLY the same heel-to-toe drop as Crocs. Is it fair to say then that the drop is not that important in these types of shoes?

And the cushe slipons are interesting. Will check those out ASAP.

No where available in Tampa, and I have no desire to mail order. I know that is narrow minded for a $15 purchase.

American made, which is very rare in footwear. Great corporate story.

They’re just flip flops…

$5 from Old Navy. I have 2 pairs, because having more colours is nice, and I have one pair reserved for my swim bag to wear on deck and in the shower.

Oh, and they are zero drop. Just a flat piece of rubber that will mold to your foot as they break in.

I bought some cheap flip flops at the Gap Outlet store. As comfy as any cheap flip flop. I like them.

Pussy.

Rainbows- best flip flops out there. I would go through a pair a year in my earlier beach/surfing days. Bought a pair of Rainbows for about $50 and it was tough at the time to drop that kind of coin on flip flops.

Now, 15 years later I still wear them. They have molded like a glove and I’m almost worn through the sole in spots but I don’t want to get another pair yet. I honestly wear flip flops year round also, Summer every day, every where…Winter inside.

Very timely, i just blew out my last two pairs of different flops, probably lasted a couple years. Was at costco yesterday and saw that they no carry flojos, so got a pair and they feel great. Seem to be well made too. Costco always uses the best companies usually when they introduce products, so i’m assuming flojos are up there in sales and quality. Anyway they were $15, probably $40 to $60 in normal retail stores. I bought mine a 1/2 big and they fit snug enough to run in them, which i find myself doing for short stints.

And like duffy i wear them almost all the time, no work boots for me. A holdover from the lifeguard days where i wore them 99% of my life. I have worn so many pair i cannot even begin to count. One thing i found is the expensive leather ones are the worst. Too loose and get really stinky later on.

I use to wear rainbows, but now i have Sanuk Men’s Beer Cozy Flip Flop

They are so comfortable:
