Sand in transition tips

Looking for some ideas. I did a local weeknight sprint yesterday for the first time. I had a great race. It’s held every two weeks so will do it again.

The transition area was all Sand like the title suggests. Looking for some tips to not have bike and running shoes with sand in them (from my feet). The bike wasn’t so bad but the running was a bit uncomfortable.

Is this as easy as a little “bucket” to stand in? I also don’t want to be that guy that has a bucket. I did try a little squirt of my feet with a water bottle but that didn’t seem to work too well…and I also don’t want to take any additional time then I need to.

I don’t know how tight the space is but as long as you don’t invade and bother other people’s space and not against the rule, why do you worry about using a bucket? Go for it. Life is short and do whatever you have to. No need to worry. Life is short.

The sprints I did in the late 80’s / early 90’s everyone had a little bucket they would dunk their feet in before the bike. I don’t know if everyone did that, if it was a regional thing, or if it was because we ran across a beach from the water to the bike in almost every tri.

Little tub

Offer your fellow racers on either side to use it if they like

Then They won’t mind you taking up a bit more space
.

If you used a cordless dust buster to clean your feet before putting socks on you definately wouldnt become a meme
.

were you up at Cedar Lake?

Yup!!!

How about lake T also?

I never have the issue there bc transition is in grass.
