Hi all,
Anyone from San Francisco?
I may fly to SF by the middle of September and spend about 2 weeks with my brother. I would like to get some advices about where to go riding, running and swimming.
Thanks a lot,
Peace,
Bruno

Something is wrong. This post has been here for 8 minutes and Cathy has not responded yet…
Bizarre.
Its a beautiful day here…she’s probably out running.
Google:
Crissy Field
Golden Gate National Recreation Area
Golden Gate Park
Dipsea
Aquatic Park/Dolphin Club
Crystal Springs trail
Marin Headlands
Hey, thanks guys!
I will get my brother address and will post it, so you have abetter idea of where I will stay.
the image I have is that it is a pretty busy city! Will I have to drive to go ridding?
I will probably need to do some long rides. WIll be the last two key weeks before Kona!
Peace,
Bruno
Its a very small city, you can ride your bike from any neighborhood to the Golden Gate Bridge and all points north…great riding in West Marin out to Point Reyes and Tomales Bay.
Aquatic Park/Dolphin Club
** **Isn’t SERC a bit cheaper? I have a friend who’s a member there, so that’s where I go…kj
Both of the San Francisco clubs are really great. Check them each out, each has a different sort of culture to them, but are great to swim, bike, and run with! www.ggtc.org, www.sftriclub.org.

Yeah, I was taking a look at their website.
I actually sent Tribo club an e-mail SF Tri Club and Gold Gate Club they don’t have forum ( at least I did not find ) and you gotta pay to have access to more information. I will be there for a week or two, I don’t want to pay ~$70 bucks for a weeke or two.
I haven’t found out my brother’s address yet! :o(
Peace,
Bruno
Rather than a forum, both use a listserve on yahoogroups that you can join for free (sftriclub and ggtc_discussion). You do not need to be a member of either to particpate in events like track, bike rides, open water swims etc… Both have track on Tuesdays at Keezar stadium. Eac h has a calendar where rides get posted, normally a day or two before… I am pretty active in both clubs, so feel free to shoot me a message with any particular questions.

If you are in SF in Sept. and you miss the SF Grand Prix

… then you should get your head checked.
Cheers, Paul
Dude–I have a job!! And training!!!
Bruno–Let us know where your brother lives. GGTC is the best club (smiley face here) and we have at least 5 people in the club who qualified for Kona, so there will be some training going on.

Hey Cathy,

PaulC, I will be there on mid September! I guess I will miss it!! :o( Seems really nice and I would enjoy watching it!! Are you riding the course?
Peace,
Bruno
I don’t live in SF anymore, but my brother-in-law lives in the marina district and when I visited him I swam at the YMCA in the Presidio. It was maybe $12 bucks, but if you are only swimming 3-4 times it sure beats $70.
He’s in the Richmond which is my old neighborhood…best place on the planet if you’re a multi-sport athlete. You are midway (less than a mile each direction) between the Presidio and Golden Gate Park with great running and riding. You’re also close to the Golden Gate Bridge, a quick scoot up Lincoln…which is on the Escape from Alcatraz course, and for swimming you can get in the ocean at Aquatic Park or there’s USF Natatorium which is a 10 minute walk away.
Hey MattinSF,
That’s good to hear!! Are you near there?
Thanks a bunch…
PEace,
Bruno
