Saddle change - Sitero to Adamo Attack

Hi STers,

I’m considering changing my saddle from the Sitero to Adamo Attack (cheap on ebay). I’ve had success in the past riding Adamo’s (mostly the old race and prologue) on both road and tri bikes. I switched to Sitero a few years ago on a Tri bike setup (on a road bike - so not super aggressive with 76 degree position) to get a rear bottle cage fitted. Recently, I switched to a Trek SC Gen 2 and got Retul’d with the Sitero, but just don’t feel as comfortable. On the trainer, I’m getting numb and don’t feel great after an hour.

I know riding indoors is deceiving, but wondering if anyone else made this change?
Did you have to change your saddle height or fore aft much?

Thanks!

Joe

Can’t comment on the Adamo but FWIW I have the same problem with the Sitero on the trainer, but no problems whatsoever on the road. Something about the bike being locked in place makes that saddle uncomfortable.

I also made this same change last year. I started with a Sitero, and I really liked the shape. It just seemed a little bit too hard though. I also really like the shape of the Adamo, but it is a little more forgiving. I have an xlab mount on the back of the Adamo, and that works like a charm. With the Sitero, I had the waterbottle mount that came with the saddle, and it seemed like the angle was too flat, and I would launch bottles every once in while.

Also, I’m not sure the Adamo is the “end all, be all”. But so far, it seems more comfortable for me. If I could somehow design my own saddle, it would be a cross of these two, with more emphasis coming from the Adamo.

Good luck to you if you decide to make the switch.

Thanks!

I do suspect the saddle may be better when riding outdoors. Almost any saddle indoors seems to be tough (even had these issues with adamo’s on older TT/Tri bikes). Though, on my road bikes, I’ve had no issues riding Adamo’s indoors.

Highly doubtful, but I want to see if I get more power riding the Attack vs Sitero. Thigh clearance has generally been fine. I have the Xlab bottle cage on another Adamo, so will make the switch. I use Gorilla bottle cages and haven’t had any issues with bottle launching. I suspect other bottle cages with some grip mechanism like Arundel would also be good.

Thanks again!

Joe
