I’d like to stop wearing my contacts under my road glasses but prescription lenses seem so expensive. Does anyone have a good coupon/site/idea for Rx sunglasses?
Thanks!

This is also an HSA qualified expense. Probably FSA too.
Can you explain what a HSA and FSA expense is? Thanks for the link!
Your USAT membership gives you 25% off of Rudy products (just the frames I’m assuming, then your optometrist would have to bill you for the lenses and no discount there.)
.
Are you on Groupon or LivingSocial or Active Schwaggle or any of those types of deals? They frequently have the pay $50 earn $200 deals for Pearle and other optical places. That’s how I got mine.
Sports Optical in Denver.

I use the ones from Zenni Optical. they’re dirt cheap (WITH the prescription lens), reasonably sturdy and depending on the model, work pretty well.
As nice as the $500 Rx sport glasses- perhaps not. but for $25- get yourself a few pair. if you break the frame (it happened once to me), you can just order the frame without the prescription lens for 1/2 price.

you need your Rx and your P.D. (pupil distance)
I pair these with -1.5 diopter speedo vanquisher goggles from swim-outlet. (also dirt cheap- like $14) Makes a huge difference in an OWS when you can actually see the buoys.
Crap. I hadn’t thought of that… if I wear Rx glasses on the bike, I’d need Rx goggles… mutha trucka

I don’t work for Zenni, and long time lurker, first time poster.
I use Zenni Optical for my prescription glasses as well. I’ve had three sets for about 6 months, and I’ve been satisfied with them. I don’t have prescription sun glasses from them, but have been able to use their clip on sunglasses over my prescription frames without any issues. If you make switch to prescription sunglasses, or just want new frames, zenni would be the way to go.
3 sets of frames, 3 clip on sunglasses inc shipping <$50
I don’t work for Zenni nor have any relationship with them. I’ve probably purchased 8-10 pair of glasses from zenni over the last 5 or more years. One pair of regular plastic fashion sunglasses were just too cheap (but- they were only $9.95 with lenses- so what do you expect) I have 3 pair of sports glasses and another 4 pair of regular prescription glasses. All have been either good or outstanding.
My metal-framed regular glasses, and this cool pair of near-rimless wire framed glasses are without a doubt the same fabrication and construction as high end fashion glasses I’ve looked at in shops for $300 and up. I’ve compared them side by side. The manufacturing process is the same, the materials, screws, attachment methods, lens coatings- etc. all seem to be identical.
you do need to have a good idea of the size of your head, and what style will work for you in advance, as I don’t think they take returns. You get no service… just glasses. (like bikesdirect.com ) but they’re so cheap, if you don’t like them, just get another 2 or 3 pair and put the ones you don’t like so much by your nightstand or in your car. Glasses cost less than a case of beer.
my eye doctor cannot buy glasses at his cost as cheaply as I get mine from zenni. I realize that they are chinese knockoffs of somebody else’s designs, but frankly, I’m just not a designer kinda’ guy. (unless Zoot starts making glasses that you can swim, bike and run in)
I use rx goggles and glasses, the goggles are easy, I use the Sporti rx goggles, you can get them from SwimOutlet.com for about 7 bucks. Then I personally like Oakley glasses, if you find an optometrist who carries them, they can put an rx in most frames.
Rudy has an RX site where you send them your perscription and they do everything for you.
I have two pairs of RX glasses from them one for racing and one for driving. Love them.
Rudy (even with the 25% off) charges an arm and a leg. Difficult to swim or run with only one arm and one leg…
