Does anyone run wearing big over the ear heaphones?
I use in the ear ones at the moment, but they don’t seem to last long before I sweat them to death and I was thinking that bigger cans might be a better option *
Your sweat will break down the foam cushion surrounding the cans a helluva lot faster than it will break down your ear buds (especially if you buy decent waterproof ones).

*apart from looking a bit like a bellend
Bigger cans, arghhhhhh. We had a great solution for many many many years. Those big cans, ear buds, and etc have actually killed the only viable solution. The best of the best of that slim over the head design is/was the MDR-AS35W. Lightweight, great bass, and last 4-8x than the cheaper non-sport version of the over the head design. They are pricey as they are coveted. At one time you could walk in to a Best Buy/Target and buy them for 19.99. Not so anymore. I blame Apple, Beats, and Skullcandy for this proplem.
I’ve got the bose sound sport wireless (I think that’s the name), really like them. Good quality, good noise isolation but you can hear enough of what’s going on around you.
Lost me at wearing headphones while running. Period. Never understood the rational for wearing any headphones while training, never mind those bloody great oversize, over ear things that are appearing now. Bad enough trying to pass people on trails who are tuned in to some crap and can’t hear you. And as for the rude sods who won’t respond to a polite hello or good day! Why bother going outside if you all you want to do is run inside your head?

I’m not asking about you not agreeing with the reason, but do you actually not know why they use them?

I never understand why someone post a criticism to question not asked them......

If so, that’s pretty amazing.
Be amazed. I don’t understand why people like them.

I use headphones when I run on the treadmill and have been through several sets of “sweat-proof” bluetooth headphones over the years, most of which last about a year before dying. Jaybirds, Plantronics, Jabra…
My latest set is the 66 Audio BTS Sport http://www.66audio.com/bts-bluetooth-sports-headphones and I’ve had them almost two years. They’re also on-ear vs in-ear which I prefer. Decent sound, long battery life, and easy to use.

If I was aware of millions of people doing something that annoyed me, I’d try a little harder to understand why they do it, rather than remaining ignorant and posting that I’m ignorant.
Understanding doesn’t mean agreement. You could actually try to understand - perhaps ask someone. Just a suggestion.
I have tried several and spent a lot of money in the process after poor quality and bad fit to the buds not working due to sweat. I struggled with buds constantly falling out due to sweat and having to adjust them all the time but was a bit hesitant to try over the ear and finally tried a few that were recommended. I settled with the beats wireless and although pricey, they have worked the best for me. Good sound quality and they stay in place, good fit and comfortable. iPhone also shows battery level so you don’t have to wait until you hear “battery low” and they end up dying on your long run. I’ve used them for over a year now and they are still as I bought them after the 90-100 degree summer sweat. I’ve tried jaybirds, Sony, JBL, etc. and I’m talking about the power beats wireless over the ear, not the big cans the meatheads wear flexing at the gym.
I wear “sport” headphones that have a clip that goes behind your ear, as opposed to the ones that only go in your ear. I never had much luck with the ones that go in your ear as they would fall out constantly once I started to sweat. For example these:
Are a great deal. I have 3 pairs of different ones (Sony and Panasonic) at work, home etc. I wouldn’t use the full “over the ear” type cans as they would be bulky and sweaty.

I run on trails, and I take one earpiece off when I come across people on the trail. It’s happened twice in my last 5 runs, both times they were dog walkers and all we did was exchange hellos. I listen to podcasts more than music. Personally, I can’t understand why people are so loathe to accept that other people like different things. Live and let live, dude. Or keep raging battles against people on the Internet. You know, whichever.
