Running tights (1)

I am buying a new pair of running tights since the elastics in my old ones have died. Every pair I have tried on are low cut. I bought the highest cut pair I could find for a turkey trot yesterday and spent half the race hitching them up! Does anyone know of any tights that actually go up to your waist/belly button?

My wife’s don’t have that problem. I actually thought running tights were uni-sex. You can probably buy mens, they’ll just wrap fit around you I’d assume.

Check out www.raceready.com. Another option is Sporthill clothing at www.milemarker.com.

I have two pairs of types - UnderArmor and Zoot. Both go up to my bellybutton but I wouldn’t run in the Zoots; they’re compression tights so I just wear them post run.

I tried on a pair of CWX tights the last time I went shopping and those were low cut. Might have just been the pair I had on.

Thanks for the suggestions! I tried on 2 pairs of UnderArmour tights because the online reviews were great. They were the lowest cut. I bought a pair of Nike tights, got them home to try them on and someone had put a pair of men’s tights in the women’s rack-they fit terribly and I’ve got to take them back.

I run in a pair of asics tights, unisex, and like them just fine, no “saggage” problems.

Sporthill and 2XU.

I have Sugoi, Mizuno, Louis Garneau, Nike and they are all pretty much at the belly button. Trying men’s tights should also fix that problem… it’s part of why I often buy men’s shorts (higher waist and longer inseam).

My favorite running tights (and I have a bazillion pairs) are Cold Lizards… The don’t have a women’s version, but the men’s fits fine (no awkward bunching like the men’s mountain hardwear tights I accidentally bought). There are 2 weights, a lightweight version and a very warm cozy fleecy version. They are not low rise, at least on me and they are a lot softer and more supple than other brands. They are so comfortable that I’ve slept in them before.

While I can’t speak for their actually running tights, Pearl Izumi running capris go well above my belly button and I’m all torso as it is so that is saying quite a bit. And I think they just fit well in general… I’ve been running in them quite a bit lately and prefer them to both my Nike capris and Nike running tights.

asics thermopolis. LOVE these tights. Best ones I’ve ever had.

Glad to see I was not the only one have that issue of tights being hip huggers - I ended up getting 2XU - yes they are compression tights but not too heavy - find they are great for running in.

Asics with drawstring, Sugoi. Race Face fleece tights! All stay up, and that means a lot since my hips are so narrow.
