Running Shorts for those who sweat ... a lot

I sweat HUGE amounts. Always have, always will apparently. To put into perspective after a 45 minute easy run this morning (70F and 70% humidity) my shorts looked like I got out of the pool and my feet were sloshing

Only thing I don’t like is the shorts soaking up the sweat then flapping.

What are you guys wearing? One thing is I enjoy the liner in the 2 in 1 shorts to keep from chafing. Wearing something like this right now

Speedo
.

I have been wearing compression briefs (Nike/UA) and some shorts over them if my shorts w/ liners are not clean. This was mostly to reduce potential chafing and keep the unit in place, its been really comfy but might also help provide another layer between the shorts and not let them get quite as soaked.

Get some shorter inseam shorts, less material to flap around. Short inseam split shorts feel amazing on the run.

Or speedo like was suggested.

I’m shy

I thought about trying this route and see if it works better. I’m soaking through two layers at it is right now

Doesn’t the liner in the 2-in-1s make you a lot hotter (and thus sweat more)?

I used to wear the Asics 55 shorts for nearly all of my running, but I desired something with about 1" shorter inseam, so I went to the Brooks Sherpa. They have a standard liner, and less material to retain sweat. I also wear compression briefs on some occasions, and they work just fine beneath the shorts.

I doubt anything could actually make me sweat more, at least I hope not. Guess I could body glide and wear regular shorts with a shorter inseam

^^^This.

I use some Nike shorts with a 4" inseam (liner and a thin nylon shell). They are short enough that they don’t stick to your quads when wet. Shorter than 4" works as well, but has that 80’s look.

I’ve been really happy with the Sugoi run shorts. They have multiple length options. You might also consider wearing tri shorts…they may stay drier since they are single layer.

the shorter the better… A little bag balm on the thighs if they are chafing underneath the shorts. I like split seam… Like this…

Been wearing the PI Fly Short as well as a pair of Brooks which are very much like this year’s Sherpa Short.

I wear my old tri shorts. I loss weight and they are not tight enough for swimming in the tri, but still work great for running. Good use for old shorts.

I’m a heavy sweater as well when the temps get over 70*. I love the Nike 5" 2-in-1 shorts & can’t wear any running shorts with briefs for the same reason as you (thigh chaffing). The compression shorts get wet & the shorts around the waist get wet, but because the shorts are 5" and the liner is longer than that, they stay pretty dry. I ran for an hour this morning in 70* & while my shirt was soaked and the liner of my shorts were soaked, the shorts themselves were relatively dry.

The only thing I don’t like about the Asics you linked are the side pockets. I prefer no pockets except for the single small rear zipper pocket. The lighter the shorts are, the better.

I’m a girl, but I sweat like a man. Hate running anything longer than 3miles in loose shorts, so I switch to something like these: http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/pd/pro-5-core-compression-shorts/pid-828499/pgid-828500

+1 on the “you can wear shorts over it” if you want a little more coverage.

Ya, little more flattering on the ladies  I’ll cover

I’ve been running in these exact shorts (but in black) for the past 4 years and love them like crazy. Most comfortable pair of shorts ever. Another good option is the BOA split seam shorts. They are suuuuuuper light weight and very very thin so they dry pretty fast. And they come in some really awesome designs. Like the Texas flag. And the cosmos of space.

North face better than naked, 4", second to none and I have many

I sweat a lot too. Compression shorts with running shorts with liners cut out on top

if you sweat a lot or run in warm climates, why would you wear 2 layered shorts, or why wear shorts over tights, just wear the tights.
many years ago I used to wear split sided running shorts but a two hour summer run would have me in tears from the rash on my inner thighs. It still hurts to think about it.
here in Sydney, and it’s a bit cooler now I wear tights similar to these year round. all of the running gear brands will have something similar
