Running Shorts (2)

What are you guys (and gals) running in that can comfortably fit a phone? I can’t stand having it on my arm and the tiny pocket in my current shorts isn’t really meant for a phone, although it does sort of fit, albeit precariously.

Lululemon, Nike, and Saucony. Rear zipper pockets are considerably better than traditional pockets for phones

I leave the phone at home.

I leave the phone at home. On this point, I will agree.

Yeah its too heavy - I run with music off my Garmin.

Flipbelt (or similar)

I concur. I use a Spi Belt and it’ll hold my phone and even a charging cable and battery bank for longer runs. Might not need the phone for music anymore, but it’s nice to still have the Garmin Live Track running and the ability to call 911 in an emergency (or for the first responders to contact my ICE contacts).

In less urgent situations, I’ve still had to use my phone occasionally…more than once I’ve phoned someone for a ride when something happened, or if there’s an emergency and someone needs to call me.

I leave the music at home too.

I try to hit the beat with my strikes per minute. I have specific songs in the 180-200bpm range that help me keep the pace.

Today I was working on 192spm for a bit.

Lulemon - very high quality materials, pockets big enough for phone if I need one, rear zip pocket and inner liner is tight like a trisuit.

The Naked running band is pretty amazing, in part because it effectively accommodates a huge variation in stuff, e.g. just a phone, any water bottle of any shape, a jacket, etc. But you have to get the sizing just right and it’s on the pricier end of the spectrum.

An unhelpful response that doesn’t answer the question. As usual.

Road runner sports rgear six pocket problem solver short fits my galaxy s7 with a case.

Likely fits anything that’s not a iPhone max or galaxy note

I took a gamble on Birdogs shorts and actually find them pretty good to run with. I thought they would be too heavy in the hot Houston weather but for anything less than 10 miles they did the job.

They have two zippered pockets for phones, and hold them fairly close to your body.

It solves the problem.

Aren’t you tempted to have that Apple Watch phone?

Check out the Brooks Cascadia shorts and see if they may work for you.

Oiselle.

I never run with electronics but I run in Vuori shorts and recommend them. On the expensive side but they can easily double as “acceptable” casual shirts or board shorts. Some are lined some are not, I go with the non-lined ones.
