I’m headed to Walla Walla this weekend to be support crew for the boyfriend who is doing the Tour of Walla Walla Stage Race. I am hoping to get in a few runs - 5 to 7 miles on Saturday and Sunday. Is anybody familiar with good running paths, roads, or trails in the area? Saturday, I will be running in Walla Walla and Sunday, I’ll be running in Waitsburg. I appreciate any info! Thanks!
i spent several weeks last year in Pendleton, Oregon just down the road from Walla Walla.
While I can’t offer any specific routes, it was very easy to go out and find an easy long run with scenery.
Lot’s of rolling hills out there.
If you are flying into Portland and driving, may I recommend stopping n Hood River and heading up the “fruit loop” (just stop & ask, the locals know)
you can buy cherries, pears, apples, cherries, etc super cheap and just picked. Makes for great snacking while you are there.
I was both places this September for Cycle Oregon… I think there is a trail (meaning paved path) in Waitsburg but worse comes to worse running in the town along the residential streets would be just fine, it’s small and pretty. CO had us camped near the local high school so there is a track if all else fails.
Walla Walla is giant comparatively speaking. 
It’s also a pretty active community, I swam @ the Y on a “rest day” and again, the downtown core & surrounding 'hoods are tree’d and would be a nice option. I’m sure some locals will chime in, I have to believe there are paths in Walla Walla considering how big & active it is.

Good running path along the river, easy access from the community college. If you head up from the CC you will hit Bennington lake which is a very popular running place and has paved, gravel and dirt sections all the way around it. I think the TT still starts in the parking lot at CC which makes it even easier.
In waitsburg, its tougher since there are only a few decent non busy roads in town.
Hopefully it stops raining for the race this weekend, just got into town and not stoked on the weather.
Thank you so much! I couldn’t tell from Google maps if there was a trail along the river or not. Yeah, the TT starts in the parking lot of the CC, and we’re staying not too far away from there.
I was thinking I’d probably just run on the track or on the sidewalk through town in Waitsburg.

Awesome! I went to Whitman College… There’s a path along Mill Creek and another along 12. Otherwise just run along the roads in the Wheatfields. If I were just there for a day, I’d do Mill Creek to Rooks Park and around the lake and back.

I live in Walla Walla, currently attending Whitman College.
The bike path out to Rooks Park and Bennington Lake is always a good bet. That’s definitely my favorite place to run. I also really love getting a little lost in the neighborhoods south of Pioneer Park (Alder St.). If you are feeling adventurous, you can drive down to Harris Park outside of Milton Freewater for some good trail running.
If you want a running partner (especially Sunday), let me know.
