Rudy project sale

We are still offering Rudy Project sunglasses and helmets at 30% off MSRP to STers. Just e-mail us your request at focalpoint@hargray.com or 843-524-8302. Ashley is our in-house Rudy Project expert. I’m just the triathlete/optometrist. S&H is $10.

Happy Holidays

do you have a website of what is in stock?

We have about fifteen models in stock but we order from RP on a regular basis. So, if you’ll go to www.rudyprojectusa.com, select style and color, we’ll get it exactly what you want, 30% off.

We have carried most of the top lines and find that not only is Rudy the highest optical/material quality but also the best support of their products. That’s a very big deal to us.

Best supporter of their products?? That is one of the biggest understatements of the century. Bar none the best customer service people, in any industry, I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. and it wasn’t even a problem I called about…wanted to get some temp tattoos made up and wanted their permission. Rather than give it to me they mailed me a large envelope full of them…in different colours. Oakley who?

Damn, I must have missed this one. Is this offer still good?

Although I just PM’d Khai, for anyone interested, the offer is still good.

Have you received in any photochromic ImpactX lenses in for the Kalyos? If so, how much are they?

Thanks,

Matt

I’m at home today, so I don’t have the price list. If you’ll e-mail me at focalpoint@hargray.com, I’ll give you a definite price tomorrow AM…it’s 70% of MSRP plus $10 S&H, whatever that turns out to be. We can get anything Rudy offers.

Any recommendations for a frame that won’t fog over in a running race??? I currently train/race with Rudy Freeon and have the problem frequently. I’m wondering if any model seems to ventilate easier for the sweat?

–Brian

You probably need more ventilation around the bridge/nose piece. The Freon has an adjustable bridge. Find a local optician who has some knowledge of this material and ask them to “close the bridge slightly”. That may be all you need.

Let me know if this doesn’t solve the problem

I would like to purchase an aero helmet. What do you recommend?

Josh

Since I’ve never tried an aero, I don’t feel qualified to give an opinion. You might try posting the question on the main forum. I’m sure you’ll get many, many opinions. In the meantime, I’ll contact the Rudy rep, who is also a triathlete, and ask him what successes people have had with the aeros. I’ll PM you as soon as I get an answer.

For anyone who’s interested. The Rudy rep has had excellent reports on the RP SyntonOpen aero helmet. He adds that the SyntonSupercomp is not a good idea for tri use, and is designed for TT primarily.

Sent an email with some questions on glasses capable of using with a RX insert (Kerosene and Rydon), Impact X lenses, and insert prices.

Thanks

Andy

We just got the prices on the photochromics so Ashley should be in touch today. On the prescription frames, we would need to know your Rx to determine if the lens curvature is appropriate for these frames. The prescripton dictates the lens curvature and thickness, and the wider the frame the greater the limitation. But, we’ll get you some prices first.

A quick note on sunglasses and prescription lenses, especially bifocals. The setting of the optical centers depends on a number of factors, i.e. is your computer on your base-bar or on the end of you clip-ons? Also, do you ride primarily in the aero position? These are a couple of the things that effect the final RX position, and comfort. It’s so individual that the final calculations must be done by someone who understands your tendencies, and you must be present at the fitting. Rx sunglasses are not inexpensive and, if set incorrectly, can induce a lot of neck and sholder pain.

We can provide the RP sunglasses with Rx inserts at the 30% discount but bifocals prescriptions should be measured and fitted by your local optometrist or optician, with the above in mind. Try to find a optometrist/triathlete for your best result.

I’ve already received a pair of photochromatic jeckylls over here in Germany. They are fantastic!

PS: I like your sig. Consider it stolen.

He adds that the SyntonSupercomp is not a good idea for tri use, and is designed for TT primarily.

Any idea as to why this might be? Heat?

It seems that the ear covers are detachable, and in the hustle of T1, may detach. As opposed to the prep time of a TT. I’m sure the heat is a factor also but we primarily discussed speed of transition. It could get really annoying if one of those things fell off. He mentioned Michelie(sp) Jones and a few other people who use the Synton but no one who uses the Supercomp version for tris. Assuming their gear is free, I would guess they tried both.

Does this offer stand to those of us in Canada and can it be applied to just lenses - I need to get some different lenses for my Ekynox.
