Rudy Project "Reader" lenses

I’m getting old, just turned 50 and I use reading glasses to read (+1.5) at work and doing paperwork, and reading computer and cellphone, but I can okay see at a distance, for driving. I do not have prescription glasses. It is getting harder to read the cyclometer or garmin, in both running and biking.

I presume the eventual situation will be prescription sunglasses, or lenses, but short of that, I was looking at the Rudy Project “Readers” and was curious what some of you farsighted people use, if any of you in similar circumstances. Apparently they make +1 to +2 sunglass lenses.

The guy who started the plan of making sporting glasses with readers integrated to the underside of the lens is my friend Louis Viggio with his company Dual. They are definitely worth checking out.

You can also get stick-on bifocal lenses to add to existing glasses (ex: http://www.stickonbifocals.com/index.em?pid=113927 )
.

I have them, but they are Rudy’s “other” brand (can’t think of the name all of a sudden). Bought two pair of the X2 lenses at the IM expo in Arizona and love 'em. I have the same issue (presbyopia). Can see at a distance no problem, but need 2.0 reading glasses to read small text. These do the job for sure and now I can sit out in the sun and send texts without having to switch to reading glasses. And, I can see my radio/speedometer, etc. better when driving.

Have you tried a plus 1.50 contact lens on one eye. Put it on your non dominant eye. Monovision? Another option is one multifocal contact. I have a few athletes use a daily wear lens ( throw them away after a day) and works well. Surgery is another option.

Rudy Project makes the Rydon and Noyz readers, which are pretty killer:

The ‘other’ brand mentioned above, is XX2i, which make sport polarized readers for $99: http://www.xx2i.com/collections/sport-readers
.

Same as you; over 50! I have the Rydon Readers and love them! I actually have two sets of lenses (clear and blue polarized) so now I can see how slow I’m going in any light!
