ROUVY issues?

Been riding ROUVY for3+ years and now having some weird issues. Tried 3 different trainers and all have same issue
So the issue is the fact the resistance is way off. Checked my settings 100% set, etc
When I ride my go to rides I have to go to 8th gear to ride at normal watts which I used to get at 4-5th gear on bike. 4th5th gear I am spinning out.
Also find it odd that rides before I would run my 520 to show hr, pedal balance, etc. from my favero pedals. and the distance and speed were always lower in Garmin, as expected. Power numbers were always dead on though after the ride. Now the Garmin is faster, farther on same rides and pedals are off by 10+ watts.
It feels like I am riding at a permanent downhill of 3-5% when it is flat.
Riding an H3 now if anyone has any ideas
Thanks for any ideas

Is your Rouvy app controlling your trainer, or just reading the power from the trainer?

It shows on the devices screen as being the power source and controllable device.
This is really odd because I have removed and reloaded Rouvy. I tried the original Rouvy app with a calibration and nothing seems to work.
I just find it odd that after having my first trainer taken in to have the internals redone (a Hammer H1) because it was dropping off, the other trainers I have linked since have all had this issue.
Looking back at previous rides, the power numbers from my Faveros are acting like I am on a 3% decline no matter what. No big deal there just the fact that to spin at my expected numbers (230 watts/80 cadence) I am having to shift into 8th gear instead of normal 4th/5th gear

And the fact it is the same across three different trainers tells me it is something besides the trainer.

Thanks

Have you removed all the trainers and then restarted the app. Also contact Rouvy support.

Since you tried 3 different trainers, my advice won’t help, but……
My H3 did a similar thing. I sent it in for a refurbishing. Before this they sent me a fix it kit, but the belt had melted and needed their assistance. They were great and free!
Just sounds a bit like the issue I had?

Karl,
I had sent in my original H1 because it was dropping completely out after about an hour of riding. They had sent me a belt and that helped for about 6 months then it got progressively worse. They refurbed it with new internals and that is when this issue began to show up. Got an H3 to try and it is showing the same issue. The only constants through this is Rouvy and my Ipad. So thinking it needs to be Rouvy.

I have put in a contact to Rouvy but now I have to wait until Friday to ride (PSA prostate test and Doc says no biking for 5-7 days before) Cancer survivor so don’t want to go through those issues again

Thanks for the ideas all- much appreciated

AND I have to give a huge SHOUT OUT to SARIS- WOW they have been AWESOME through this whole thing.

Just a suggestion: download the Saris app and control your trainer from that. The app is very simple but would settle the issue whether it’s ROUVY or the trainer. It’s typically used for diagnostics. Change the wattage and see if the ride effort feels appropriate.
Also, assuming you are running in ergo mode, the gear you are in really shouldn’t matter, the trainer will command the same watts at a steady state.

There’s no chance the 520 is trying to control the trainer, is there? Just a shot in the dark.

Oh wait…is the Saris App controlling the trainer. I had some issues where my wahoo kickr app was not letting Rouvy app to take control. I had to let the kickr app allow external apps to take control over the trainer if they are running (or something like that). Then after I did that, I went to the Rouvy app and also had to configure it to control the trainer. So if I recall correctly I had two steps. No amount of monkeying around on the Rouvy app side was going to help (I think) if the Kickr app was primary controller.

Best of luck with the doc.

Thanks Karl
2 years out and cancer free after having the surgery at 49 years old.
My bike is third best friend behind my wife and our dog so when I don’t get to have our regular relationship it stings a little
I just heard back from Rouvy and their suggestion was to make sure nothing running in the background- so waiting patiently for
Friday to try these ideas out and see what is going on

Happy Tuesday all- sun is shining here in WI and I get to run outside again today without 15 layers and all the other stuff
Gonna be a great day

OK. Good news from Doc all clear. But still no luck with trainer. Deleted and reloaded ROUVY, closed all programs in the background, etc and still had resistance issues. For those familiar with IM moo, I rode up Mt Horeb big ring in 5th gear. Never happened before and definitely not realistic. Before issues, the old trainer was just like being there, not even close now. Sent message to ROUVY to see and they had me start with what has already been said here. And I don’t have it in erg mode so another puzzle to figure out.
On a side note, since this has started I noticed my Garmin reading speed off of trainer is not even close in that it is faster than ROUVY pace, which it should not be. I never did it before but was looking on my 520 and under H3 it asks for wheel size is this normal? Don’t remember that from my original H.

Thanks all for the help with what is a first world problem considering all that is going on in the world.

Thanks for the idea- I will give that a shot as nothing else seems to be working
Thought I had done that but worth a check
I know it must be something along those lines as I tried Fulgaz to see what would happen
and what a horrible experience. The trainer would be almost impossible to pedal when the grade was -3 and then get really easy
when it would go to +3 grade. So something is interfering with the trainer for some reason.
Plus Fulgaz froze at the same place on a ride 3 separate times a min. and a half into the ride.
Glad it was still under the free trial period

Here goes to more experiments
