hi, I can buy for the same price, sram red crank bb30 (not the exogram) or rotor 3D+ bb30 with praxis rings, I dont really know rotor crank, so I would like to have some feedback or advice from you

Buy the Sram ones if you want to use Vector power pedals in the future. Other than that, both are fine cranks. The Rotors will be a bit more pricey.
First: why are the SRAM cranks better for vectors?
Second: reading comprehension FAIL he said he can get them for the same price.
For whatever reason, the rotors are a little too wide to fit the vector pods. Eventually Garmin will probably make a wider pod, but they haven’t yet.
If the same price, I’d probably get the Rotors. They look cooler and might be marginally stiffer.
ok thank you, and yes the rotor is the same $$
.
Rotor now has power meters built into their crank.

I’ve had both (including the Praxis rings) and would go with the Rotor 3d+ and Praxis, unbelievably stiff and smoothest shifting rings other than dura ace. After making the switch on the tri bike I’ve now got the setup on the on the others too.
Hi nightfend,
Actually, I corresponded with Clark Foy during development of the Vector to help make sure the pods would fit on Rotor cranks as used by Team Garmin-Cervelo (as they were named at the time).
In fact, in Garmin’s video “Installing Vector” they are demonstrating how to install the Vector on a Cervelo… with Rotor cranks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C77DbG8AjGU Jump ahead to about 2:45 where they say “in this particular set up we have a Rotor set up…”
Cheers,
Rotor cranks are stiff, super light, look great and are bombproof! What more do you want from a crankset?

Nice to hear. I know I saw some posts with people having difficulty getting the pedal to connect on their Rotor cranks.
Hi nightfend,
Thanks. I’m guessing here, but I wonder if the problem in those cases could have been the need for one or two pedal washers between the crank and pod? Every crank with a recessed pedal hole needs some.
Cheers,
From what I read, there were several issues: One was the plug not fitting well and connecting with the spindle, but the other issue was that with the Vector pedal installed, it was basically hitting the bike chain, instead of having 3mm minimum space as Garmin recommends. I don’t own Vectors, so I can’t verify this on a Rotor 3D+ crank, but it probably varies depending on the number of washers used and also the frames chainstay design.
Anyway, it is nice to know that officially, it is possible to set the Vector up on a Rotor as the video shows. I will change my advice to others on this issue for now on.

The Rotor 3D+ will allow you to upgrade to a Power2Max spider without having to get a new crank, making it a less-expensive path to power.
