Trying to figure out a pm option for a bb90 frame currently running Dura Ace 9000 crank. I have a pedal based option at the moment and would like to switch to crank based pm.
My first choice in terms of pm would be p2m, but in that case I am limited to a Rotor 3d 24 crank. On the surface of things, I take this to be a step down in performance vs the current DA9000 crank, although i’m not sure it’s anything that’s noticeable?
Would appreciate any input to confirm or deny the hypotheses, and of course any out of the box thinking regarding alternative pm options (not looking to spend SRM s scale money and kind off disregarded pioneer due to install hassle…). Any word on Rotor doing more 24 mm versions of their cranks in the future?
I have a Rotor 3D+ p2m and I was concerned about the shifting on the Praxis rings coming from Shimano but it has been a non issue. Shifting is excellent and indistinguishable from my other bike with Shimano, although it has Ultegra not Dura Ace. The p2m itself has been great and I think is the best value in crank power meters at current prices. The upcoming 4iii dual power meter is interesting as well if you can wait a few months, although I think the install process will be similar to pioneer where you have to send them your crank.

My wife and I are both currently riding Power2max Rotor3Ds with Praxis chain rings and find them very acceptable.
