Rotator Cuff issues

Not good to hear Herbert. I would suggest if possible you make sure you are seeing a PT who regularly treats swimmers shoulder. I would also suggest you look into Dr Kirsch’s hanging protocol. This is a great testimonial from someone who knows more about swimming and shoulders than me - Shoulder Health (championsmojo.com)

Had rotator cuff surgery just over a year ago. Coincidentally I found some great new research that may help you a bit…

Check out Keith Barr of UC Davis and his research…

Good luck Herbert! I’m sure you’ll be back stronger soon.

Thank you

If PT doesn’t work because sometimes there are other underlying issues not seen in the X-ray you can always go the route of surgery. I have had both shoulders done in the past five years and now am back swimming with zero pain. The recovery is extensive and long (6 months out of the pool) depending on the fix required but totally worth while. I went in to surgery with a tear like yours and came out with bone scraping, reattachments, and clean up of tissues. My surgeon works with professional athletes (quarterbacks and pitchers) so I had a lot of confidence in his ability to get me back to full strength and rotation.

Wow
