Ronde Power Meter

Anyone have any experience with these? I’m on the UK and they are on eBay for 239 for 5800 and 279 for 6800 crank arm. Considerably cheaper than Stages and even 4iiii and what looks to be a very similar design. That said there’s always the ‘to good to be true’ side of me that wonders whether the accuracy will be up to scratch (or even how I’ll know!)

Worth a punt?

Almost certainly a re branded XCADEY powermeter that you can buy on aliexpress.

I don’t know if I trust it either. Saw a post on my local craigslist with somebody advertising it as a product they would endorse…did a search and found a bunch of random posts on other craigslist and forums (new users) with the exact same thing. No review data from 3rd party sites I could find. Skip until you get a real person who has a unbiased review/experience.

DCRain commented on the xcadey, not that he’s the say all for what you should or shouldn’t buy but he sure does test a ton of stuff and usually provides good feedback:

“I’m all for burning $300 (I’ve got 6 tabs open on Amazon at the moment narrowing down gizmos to buy), but given their own data looks horrendous, I see little desire to spend both money and time (mostly time) trying it out.”

.

I have just got one and used it on a couple of rides. It seems to do the job perfectly. Initially I couldn’t get it to pair with my garmin while spinning gently on the turbo trainer but as soon as I gave it a bit of effort, it was recognised. After that it has worked perfectly. It has given a low battery warning after about 1 hour of riding but then continued perfectly for a further 3 hours. Some meters have had problems with water ingress but this survived a 106km Audax in torrential rain with no problems whatsoever. I am planning a side-by side test with a leading brand and will write a full review after that. My initial findings are that it is a bit of a bargain.

I was just looking at one of these and seeing if there are any thoughts on this in the last year?
