Roll Call: Breezy Point Tri

I’m in. I’ll be wearing the blue and white athletes in action jersey and a silver wetsuit.

Let’s have a slowtwitch re/union afterwards.

Great race, It was my first tri ever back in 2003. That year we had 30+ MPH winds and many did not finish the 1K swim. I’m skipping this year to focus on Eagleman. Good luck and have fun!

Good luck, I wish I could be there as it’s one of my favorites and very close to home. I’ve only missed it once since I started competing in 2000 but I’m helping out some friends up in New Hampshire at the Mooseman. Have a beer for me at the party afterwards (if you’re so inclined) which is always a blast.

Great to hear the positive feedback regarding this race…I can’t wait.

Anyone else going?

Been there done that one many times in years past, early to mid90’s, when I lived in Charlottesville. One year the water temp was 58. Many people walked down the ramp to knee deep, exited and went home!! My hands were completely numb in T1. It was so bad I couldn’t move my fingers at all to put my helmet on. Its a great ra, one of all time favs!! Good Luck.

Man what a great race. One of the very few out there that truly give you the best value for your money. I’ve done it three times and have never been disappointed.

Is anyone actually racing this time?

Let me know how we can meet up!

I’m not racing tris this year…adventure racing…

bump…

I am in!!!

My first race at Breezy, 4th for the year. The Bay Temp is nice. I swam in the Bay this morning over at Buckroe Beach in Hampton in my wet suit and was very comfortable. I expect to do the Tri America in Hampton a couple of weeks later debating on doing the Sprint or the Olympic leaning towards the Olympic!

See ya there I will be at the CRT (Colonial Racing Team) tent afterwards.

Be careful with the concrete driveway as you enter the water. The sides are covered with barnacles (small shelfish), I sliced open my feet and hands just before the race in 2003. The grip on my handlebars was covered in blood by the end of the race.

Gotta watch the expansion cracks in the runways…they’ll take a wheel and buckle it in half in a heart beat!! The Transition area is on the runway (used to be at least) and you’ll leave T1 parallel to some expansion cracks!
