ROKA Google Owners: how much are you getting out of your goggles?

I have used the same pair of Speedo Vanquish 2 mirrored for 5 years now & they are still going strong. I rinse them in cold water after I’m done (as I do my swim caps). I pat dry with a towel & chuck them in my swim bag. A few scratches on the lens but no biggie. My previous pair were the same model–but someone stole them when I was in the hot tub when my back was turned. Yes, 5 years I’ve had them…work as well/leak proof as the day I got them. I will say my B70 goggles lasted almost a year before they started wilting away. Haven’t tried Roka.

I generally get around 8-9 months of use out of my aqua sphere kayennes before they start leaking and I replace them.

i’ve tried all the ROKAs. some fit me, some don’t. for me, it’s the F1. brilliant goggle. dark amber mirror lens.

i can also swim in the TYR tracer, and the speedo vanquisher and the MDR (which is a weird looking goggle but it works).

i don’t get anywhere near the time out of the goggles you guys get out of yours. for me, it’s about like running shoes. 2 or 3 months. they start to fog, or something.

the one thing ROKA makes that just lasts way longer than anything else anybody makes is their jammer. which i’m bummed about because i went there day before yesterday to order and they’re out of 32s.

Just an update for everyone here - I’ve been contacted by ROKA CS and they have on their own accord offered to replace the goggles at no charge for me.

I appreciate the company standing behind their product and taking care of customers in this matter, so thought it was worth letting everyone know.

People now a days are very quick to point fingers and pull triggers when something goes wrong, but rarely do people praise when things get fixed. So thank you ROKA for standing behind your product and keeping a customer happy

Awesome! Glad to hear they helped you out. Roka has amazing customer service.

Did they offer the replacement before or after this thread?

My very first pair of R1’s broke in the exact same spot while I was swimming. Felt and odd pulling and then snap. I don’t recall how long I’d had them, more than 3-4 months but not close to a year. I contacted Roka and they sent out a new pair right away. I’ve had several pairs of R1’s and they’ve last longer than the others that I’ve tried, plus they fit me well.

I had the exact same issue with my R1s last year. I emailed ROKA and they sent me a replacement pair immediately. Great customer service.

Why didn’t they do that straight away when first contacted instead of basically saying “yeah, that’s how long they’re supposed to last”?

Actually, there isn’t a customer service good enough to make up for a pair of goggles chronically lasting just a few months. That’s where the problem lies - the product sucks.

I’ve been using 1 pair of R1’s for about a year now without issue swimming twice each week.

As for Roka’s customer service, I find them to be extremely poor with anything purchased more than 30 days ago. For example when my wife used her brand new wetsuit this last spring and it tore, they wouldn’t do anything for use because it was 4 months old (Purchased Dec16/Jan17). However, when they released their long sleeve swim skin and my wife bought one knowing she needs something for Kona 2018 her only complaint was tightness in the arm movement. When the X version recently came out Roka allowed us to return the still unworn Pro version for the X even though we were outside the return/exchange policy by a handful of days.

It tore as in a seam came apart, or the neoprene itself tore? Maybe they assessed that the issue was user error, not a wetsuit defect? Roka wetsuits have a two-year limited warranty, so I’m not sure why 4 months would change anything.
