Anybody got the scoop on fast/semi-fast roadie rides in Richmond, VA. I’d prefer ones that are further than 40 miles in length, if you know of any. Thanks!
look for group rides in the Richmond Area Bicycling Asso. site ( www.raba.org) they post speed and distance. also three sports sponsor some rides through the week (www.threesports.com ). coming up is Heart of Virginia Bicycle Event with rides on sept 17 and 18…

Also be sure to check out the Conte’s Saturday morning ride. It is probably the longest/fastest group ride in town. Also there are a couple of weeknight group rides in the Glen Allen area that are pretty fast, but usually only 35-40 mi due to 6 pm start and daylight running out by 7:30. I think there is also a pretty fast weeknight ride that leaves from downtown and goes out Route 5. I can get you more details if you’re interested in any of these.

Yeah, they should be able to tell you the details if you call the store. Never actually done the Conte’s Saturday ride, myself, cause I’m usually doing long rides solo or w/ smaller groups of triathletes for IM training. However, I often see the Conte’s guys in Hanover or Goochland on my way out, and those guys usually look like they are moving.
