Can anyone recommend an option for road bike rentals in Bend, OR? The only rental shop I found that had road bikes was Hutch’s, but all of their road bikes have disc brakes which cannot be used in the draft legal sprint duathlon on June 18th. I’m already flying with my TT bike for the non draft legal duathlon and would love to be able to do two races without bringing two bikes. Thanks for any ideas!
May be tough since a majority of shops here cater to mountain biking. The only recommendations I have for shops that may have road bike rentals would be Webcyclery, Sagebrush Cycles, Sunnyside Sports, or the Hub Cyclery.

As per Charlie Crawford, Commissioner of Officials for USAT, disc brakes are allowed for all USAT sanctioned events.
Sunnyside has road bikes both disc and rim brakes.
I will check out Sunnyside, thanks!
Also, helpful to know that USAT is not enforcing the ITU rule about disc brakes.
The bike transport rents bikes for the race.
Yes, and they charge $400 for the rental. That is crazy.

Cheaper than what it is going to cost to ship my bike.

Round trip shipping of my road bike from US East Coast to Bend $112 via Bike Flights. Just sayin’
Are you flying into Bend or Portland? There are a ton of options in Portland if you want to grab one on your way out of town.
Enjoy Bend. Make sure to save time for a pint or three. Boneyard, Crux, Silver Moon, Deschutes, Atlas Cider, Cascade Lakes, Wild Ride, etc. Some of the best breweries in the world, but I may be biased.
Thanks Vincible! If I hit up that many places for a pint I might not have to worry about racing at all. Maybe I can rent a tricycle.
We spent a week in bend last summer and I rented a nice trek road bike from sunnyside sports. They were great. Really nice bike shop
Fellow Bendite here.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of bike rentals are mountain bikes or cruisers for the river trail. I will see if there is anything I can find. Let me know if you need any other resources, also.
