Road bike choice

Cannondale six13 or the new BMC phonak team edition?

Is your decision based on what bike fits you best or what is the latest bike to hit the Pro peloton?

Go get fit and if either bike fits you for your purpose, it’s the best bike. If both bikes fit, they are both good bets. Buy one and don’t ever think the other would have helped you place any higher. Pick one and don’t ever look back or have regrets, they are both fine bikes, albeit completely different from another.

I’ll fit on both bikes, just wondering what some other opinions are. Why do you say they are completely different bikes? I would say they are more similar than dissimilar.

hey coach let me first thank you for saying you will fit on both.

that said, i gotta ask - why these two?

Just saw a BMC Phonak bike a couple of days ago in Lanzarote. Beautiful looking machine, complemented magnificently by the young lady perched upon it.

I have dropped more money on rediculous things because of beautiful women. I personally hate when there is a beauty workin in a clothing store, i go in for underwear, and come out with a new wardrobe.

The shop that I work at carries those brands as well as Specialized, Klein, Lemond, Kestrel, Independent… of those I liked the six13 and bmc the most.

ah. well i would get an IF.

but, since you asked, and i like bikes . . . . i wonder if the bmc would have appeal to you if tyler still rode for csc. it appears quite gimmicky to me, and unless i was a big-time tyler fan wouldn’t even get a second look from me.

the 6-13, or whatever . . . . …

i would get an IF.

The IF’s are good steel frames… I had a bianchi steel frame that I just abused, it was great… I’m not into the BMC b/c of Tyler, obviously they wouldn’t be as hot without picking up him and Phonak, but they have made a superlight alum/carbon bike, that’s something that appeals to me… of course that’s also why I like the six13. It’s lighter and comes with the cannondale cranks and record, so I think that’s what I’m going to do.

I just had a R3000 before I was hit by a car, so I really like Cannondale’s products. As far as the “crank-and-fail” moniker, the welds at the seat post held so well during the wreck that I had a compression bubble right in front of it, that’s a good weld! Plus I don’t do UCI races, so I can ride the illegal weight.
