I am going to las vegas next week. I was thinking of taking my bike, what is it like riding down around lake Mead. Is it nice? worth taking the bike. ?

Red Rock Canyon on the west side of town (I think) is a good spot.
Riding in the city is horrible … heavy traffic, etc. Red Rock is great, as is Mt Charleston. I ride around Lake Las Vegas/Mead all the time.This is a nice time of year for riding in the desert … I wore shorts yesterday! If you want, send me an email or PM and maybe I could show you around. Where are you staying?
I was in Vegas a few weeks ago for the Pumpkinman Tri. The bike course headed out towards Lake Mead and it was beautiful.
