Anyone ever done it or planning on doing it Oct. 26, in Austin
My son has a friend who lives in Austin. One day he passed a group of riders while tooling along on his mountain bike. Big reaction from the group. Turns out he passed Lance.
I have heard it is a lot of fun, but I have never done it.
yep, done it a couple of times and strongly recommend it.
lived in austin for 5 years and there are unbelievably good places to ride, and the roses ride covers a bunch of them.
(btw: most austin riders would say you ain’t an austin rider until you’ve seen lance… but I’ve never passed him tho…)

I passed him once in a race…of course it was Willie Nelson’s 10K Run, and he was pushing his kid in a run-stroller thingy…but I usually forget to add that little tid bit when telling the story. I also blew past Lyle Lovett…his hair was creating too much drag, or he would have had me for sure. :=) I don’t think Willie ran though, but he put on a mean concert afterwards.
Yeah, I passed them both on that run as well (still the best race t-shirt, imho). Lyle didn’t look so good tho…
