Rickshaws in Vegas

A few years ago, Vegas passed a law banning pedicabs (bicycle rickshaw) from the strip… subsequently they have basically disappeared.

The question I pose is this, would it be legal to have a traditional rickshaw on the strip, run (literally) on the sidewalks? Of course, a running rickshaw could not realistically cover the entire strip (5+ miles) but could offer tourists a fun way of getting around a few of the tightly packed casinos.

Just curious, would be hard work for sure (perhaps impossible?) but am curious if anyone has any insight into the legalities of such a pursuit.

Do fat lazy people tip well? That’s a question that would need to be answered.

There is no way you could run a rickshaw on the sidewalk. They are usually PACKED with people.

Regardless of the law, on the central strip there are far too many pedestrian-mandatory overpasses to cross streets that would not accommodate rickshaws for this to be feasible. Auto-rickshaws (aka tuk-tuk’s) like those found in Asia would fare much better and give cabbies a run for the money… IF the taxi union (or organization of some sort) was not so strong (there must be one in Vegas or there would be better public transport options from the airport)

If you’re looking to parlay training into some extra bucks best bet is to valet.
