Rhythm Health Bloodwork

Anyone used Rhythm Health for routine bloodwork? It’s been advertised a lot recently. I think bloodwork is a great way to keep track of the body and people don’t nearly do it enough. But also it seems limited what they test and a bit fearful it’s another Theranos.

Any reviews from subscribers?

I can´t talk to that provider, but I read Peter Attia´s “Outlive” and learned a heck of new stuff about bloodwork, and what you need to look after. Especially measures like ApoB, Lp(a), HbA1c are (apparently, but I am not a doctor  ) much more important now than LDL etc. Check it out

I have seen a tracker that some Attia User Group on Reddit put out that you can use to track all these new (new to me at least) measures on bloodwork etc.

How often are we supposed to do this? I’m used to doing it once a year, or if I’m stick and my doctor asks for it.

I think that depends on the “risk group” that you are in.
I have inherited “high LDL” - so doing my bloodwork once each 6 months.

I think anyone above 50 should do this once a year. I cannot recommend reading Attia´s book enough. Taught me a lot of life saving (I hope) insights !

But I also live in a part of the world (Spain) there my Cardiologist still tells me "Don´t eat too many eggs, as this will enhance your risk of blood clots (due to high LDL) " which is totally debunked nowadays…

I’m 44, no health issues (only mental health issues here  ), and I just can’t make sense of paying $79 for monthly blood work. I don’t know what will change month to month for me.

Not much will change within 30 days no - which is why I suggested yearly …

Edit: I had ‘no health issues’ until I starting digging a bit more into my blood work (in my mid forties) - the sooner you can act on anything going ‘downhill’ the better - trust me

Sage advice. We’re healthy until we’re not. One of my biggest fears is being sick of something I could’ve caught early.

Not a paid Attia fellow here  but here are the 4 horsemen you need to look over your shoulder for @TulkasTri - even at 44  (sorry)

Note this lead-in: “The following amounts over 80% of deaths in people over 50 who do not smoke…”

I personally think bloodwork should be done more than once a year as it’s just a snapshot. What did you eat the day before? How much water did you drink? Are you catching a cold? Did you do a big workout before? All those things can affect the results and getting results more often will allow you to see a true baseline and more easily identify outliers. It’s probably overkill until it isn’t and it catches something.

Now I’m getting trt ads so maybe that answers my questions about rhythm health, maybe it’s just for people on trt to monitor stuff…

Is anyone aware of a something similar to Rhythm that operates in Europe?

Why not have your doctor order bloodwork? I get my bloodwork done approx. quarterly and it’s covered by insurance. I think I end up paying LabCorp around $7 or so extra each time. It’s not as efficient to go to the lab (early AM as fasted testing is generally recommended) as getting the blood draw kit sent to your home but it’s far more comprehensive as certain tests require more blood than systems like Rythm. Over the years, I’ve used the data to track iron levels as well as a detailed review of the hormone panel to monitor health and to some extent performance indicators.

Thriva is a company in the UK that offers tests. Biostarks was another company that launched a few years ago and used pro triathletes (I think Emma Pallant Browne) to market their tests but haven’t heard much from them recently.

I have been using there service this year. I did two initial tests, made some dietary and supplement changes that I felt were actionable based on the results and consultation with Rythm. I then took a few months off and am going to test again this month. I think it’s great.

So you can skip months and not pay the $79?

Yep, you can skip as long as you want.

I dunno this sounds too much like DIY healthcare which never ends up good. If it weals such a good plan to get regular bloodwork why aren’t your pcps recommending it?

I used it, everything shipped pretty quickly and the results that overlapped with my quest from 3 weeks ago were accurate. It’s like $80 and they make it super easy to opt out of the monthly.

$20 off code too - YLLRGIEP
