There is a very large company, that all of you would recognize that is involved in some extremely rotten and unethical shit.
I pointed out a massive integrity violation to the companies Director of Corporate Security and after a 4 month investigation he essemtially acknowledged the fuck-up but due to certain ‘contractual language’ said they are powerless to do anything about it.
I am absolutely furious. I cannot give too many details because once I play my cards, their assassins will be after me for sure
I know this is a very abtract question, but I am a little person with a bad attitude who believes in reverse karma, which is to say that when you know extremely fucked up shit is happening and do nothing to stop it, you are an accessory to the crime.
I am so pissed off…how does a little person like me take down/get even with a big company and remain anonymous? Herbert, on the main page is a guerilla marketing guru. I am thinking about that, but not from a marketing standpoint, rather from a character assassination standpoint.
Sorry to be vague. Would appreciate any thoughts/input
I could call the SEC and bust them for some serious Sarbanes-Oxely violations. In fact, I will do just that. Thanks for waking me up.
However, invesitagtions like that can drag on for months. Between now and then, I am looking for more immediate gratification…on the down low.
I am telling you, if you knew what I know, you would be absolutely horrified. It is an ongoing crime that defies definition, as there are not enough superlatives in the english language to desribe how fucked up and defiant this company is. Liberals and Conservatives would be unanimous in agreeing upon the most extreme form of punishment for this company’s exexcutive staff and board of directors.
Sorry for editorializing like this, but I am extremely pissed off. I am also thankful to have a place like the LR to share my frustration and seek the counsel of the smartest people in the world.

Word!
If you truly have information on a Sarbanes type violation, you are, no shit, sitting on a retirement claim. How to do right by the public and your family? Do a google search of shareholder derivative suit attorneys and have a chat. You can do it anonymously and if your belief squares with the law: Bingo! Your family and the public are served. (family for life.)
Sadly, most of the time, what you think is an egregious violation of the law is a nothing. To preserve your job and your shot at lifetime security, consult with an attorney. If nothing comes of it, attorney-client privilege protects your current job. If you really have something, only an attorney can convert it into $.

My first thought was that this belongs in the Papal Infallibility thread.
Let the media know; they understand anonymous sources need to be protected. In this day and age of 24-hour news cycles, CNBC et al are always looking for a good story.
Nevermind, I have devised a plan that will bring these people to their knees within the next 10 days. Just had to stay up late and be pissed off for a couple of hours to get the creative juices flowing!!
The last thing I would be doing is posting my intentions on a public website. Good luck in bringing ‘da man’ down.
Thanks for the reminder. But I am merely seeking advice on how to slay a dragon. Only a fool would tell the dragon of ones intention.
Couple of comments:
Be careful what you post. Defense lawyers will look to anything (including finding your IP address and tracking what sites you go to, infidelity, forum posts, facebook pages and postings, musings, etc) to discredit you.
If you have information, be prepared for a long uphill battle. Sharon Watkins, who was the whistleblower for Enron, lost her job and had a difficult time finding another job within her chosen career. She was a VP for a Fortune 500 company probably making close to half-million a year; now she is a speaker for large conferences. Jeffrey Wigand, whistleblower for the tobacco industry, lost his job, sued by his employer and fought hard for his name, reputation and his career. Both of these are celebrated examples of whistleblowers, and both were lauded by movies, book deals and “Person of the Year” accolades. There are many more whistleblowers who lose their jobs, are blacklisted within their city, industry, career circles.
If you have information of unethical actions, most corporations, as part of SOX, have a whistleblower or ombudsman process which is anonymous. You can report the activity and give your name to the phone operator and they will give you a tracking number and forever more, you will be identified with that tracking number and not your name. The whistleblower operations of most corporations are independent of management and go directly to the board of directors. Most board of directors want to do the right thing as their neck is on the line. Also, most CEO’s and CFO’s want to do the right thing as SOX has some pretty stiff penalties, such as personal fines and jail time, for improper actions.
If their activity is material enough, contact the companies regulatory bodies: SEC, EPA, IRS, Attorney General’s office, etc. If there is illegal activities, they may take action, however, with some stuff, there is a materiality threshold. If you say that the company dumped a quart of oil on the ground, the EPA probably won’t do anything. If you say they are dumping barrels of used oil in a pit in the middle of the desert, they may fine the company. If you say they knowingly let chemicals seep into the ground water contaminating the city’s water supply, there could be a bigger fine and some criminal indictments.
I’d be careful what revenge tact you take. Making accusations in the media or the public, can leave you open to suit, especially if they don’t pan out into anything solid.

Thanks Dude, for the good advice. I think “Revenge and Getting Even” was probably a poor choice of words because it implies that I would do something underhanded, unethical or illegal in my quest for justice. This is not the case. Everything I do is perfectly legitimate.
What I know about this company and this matter in particular, is something that would offend you and every other fair-minded American. It would make you puke.
A really good friend who is an ‘expert’ in matters like this told me this morning “take them down” but a few moments later we spoke of the consequences and repercussions of letting the emotions of pride and anger rule over ones common sense. So, I was no better off when I got off the phone……with the exception of knowing my friend is as conflicted about this situation as I am. I wish I could give all details right now so smart people like you and my other LR friends could advise me on the best course of action.
I am feeling less confident about all of this, this morning. When my confidence waivers, I am disappointed in myself and I feel like a pussy. When I think I have the answer, I feel bold and defiant……I feel like a bad-ass. It is the ebb and flow of these emotions that leaves me confused.
What I do know is that the ‘deed’ that was done could be interpreted as being within the guidelines of existing laws, (this is what they are banking on but I think they are horribly mistaken) this does not make the ‘deed’ any less disgusting. I suppose I could be the ‘serpent with the long memory’ it worked for me before in a very similar situation: I got screwed on a business deal and I was pissed off……but I let it slide. Two years later, I hit those fuckers right between the eyes and they wrote me the check they said they would never write.
If I were to act now, while their guard is up, anything I do would most certainly be thwarted because they are expecting something from me. Perhaps it is best to let them settle into their serenity of impunity……and get comfortable. They’ll forget all about me. Until, like the young Ivan the Terrible, I point my finger and change the dynamic. Completely.
The guy I was dealing with is the Director of Corporate security at this company. I am certain that as soon as I hit “Post Reply” it will be on his iphone. He’s got the technology to find my IP address, determine my location and send his assassins out to get me this afternoon if he felt like it.
Of all people Tibbsy, I thought you would be the one to send a message of inspiration…to motivate me to rise up against “The Man” and fight the good fight.
I think you might be having a bad day…telling me to ‘just take it and smile’
Does your corporation or the board of directors have an ombudsman? Talk to him/her.
And if you feel you’ve exhausted all avenues for resolving the problem within existing bureaucratic structure, then write a letter honestly, but politely, outlining your issues to your senior leadership. If they don’t take it seriously, take it to the board of directors. (at which point you could become unpopular)
If none of them give a shit, then you can always resign. The best revenge is to live well.
