Looks like the full will cost $500. That priced me out.

Where you really expecting it to be much less expensive? Still $50 cheaper than most full distance Ironman events and if the Rev3 Half in CT is any indication of what to expect you will probably get a lot more for your money vs an IM branded event. In my opinion the Rev3 Half definitely blew away any IM70.3 event I have done.

I can do B2B or Silverman which have both lived up to the WTC races I have done in terms of quality of support and what I got for my money. And yes, i would expect a first year race to be a lot cheaper than that.
I wish them luck and I will be interested to hear the results. I would have raced it had it been in line with the other indie races.

I would say that if you want the glitz and glamour of an IM event, but with better swag and more for your money, then this should be the race for you. If it is anything like the half, it will be well worth it. I was present for B2B and can tell you that it wasnt even close to the production that Rev3 was. Also, you get the media attention by having all the pro’s at the race. Should be interesting to see which pros show up seeing as they will all be preping for Kona.

I would bet they will get all the pros that didn’t qualify for Kona. All the other ones that want to keep their sponsors will be in Kona.

Wouldnt you think they would get a decent list of pros that question if they can break top 10 at Kona? They payout a decent sum for 1st 2nd and third place. There is a huge list of pros that cant break top 10, but can win a ironman race.

It likely has less to do with what the pro wants than what their sponsors want. And more than likely (and I am guessing and talking out of my ass), but I would think the sponsors would want them in Hawaii talking up their products and being seen with their products.
