Resume spamming question

I am looking to get a job as a Physical Therapy Technician and was wondering if it would worth while and just fax a resume and cover letter to every physical therapy office in my area. Has anybody ever done something like this?

Hey Tibbsy. I don’t think it’s worth it. We used to get a lot of resumes faxed to us and we even had a little waste basket right by the machine to put them in. No one would look at them. I would email a person directly or better yet try to get a quick appointment.

Have you tried LinkedIn?
First make sure you have a clean profile / resume.
Look for PTs in your area and invite them to connect.
If they accept, see what they know about opportunities in their office.

Do you mind linking to me so I can see a complete profile?

x2 LinkedIn is great for “professional” networking. Kinda like Facebook, but less creepy.

There’s always the old fashioned way, too. Put on some nice clothes, print up copies of your resume on fancy paper, and walk into the offices, shake hands, and pass them out. Be sure to collect business cards along the way. Then call a few days later to thank them for meeting with you and ask if there are any new developments.

Good Luck.

If that doesn’t work, you can always buy a bucket and squeegee and start your own business at a good intersection.

Don’t laugh about the squeegee idea. I got the suff together yesterday.

Sometimes the colleges that has PT programs would get job notices from employers looking to hire PT students. Can always go in to learn about the program(job opportunities). I seemed to have seen job notices in the hallways

look for their professional organizations - local and nationwide - they should be able to help you too.
