I’m looking to buy a Computrainer. But I’ll going to move to another country next July. If I get one now, the Pro 3D model which costs about $1400, how much can I expect to sell it off for?
Thanks!

I imagine they hold value pretty well. But shop around b/c I just picked mine up new for $1,130 w/ shipping. It was through LBS group order discount.
It may be harder to unload in summer though. Whose thinking of triaing outdoors
1130 is CHEAP!! DAMM…
BUMP
Does the computrainer come with warranty, and more important, is the warranty transferable to a second owner?
If it is transferable I personally would be willing to pay a higher price closer to the original cost than if the warranty is not transferable. Otherwise it’s probably not worth taking a chance over a new one unless the price is quite a bit cheaper.
Maybe I am missing something, why would you want to sell because you are moving countries ? can you not take it with you - presumably you are shipping your bike etc.
If you are worried about power supply - computrainer sell both 110 and 240 V power units - so that should not be an issue.
Moving to somewhere where I can bike year-round! So I wouldnt need such an expensive indoor trainer. But I really want to get one to prepare for my IMCDA next june. Which is why I’m thinking of getting one and then unloading it in the summer.
Ok - now I am just jealous !
Resale seems to be pretty high, just check ebay. When I bought mine, I ended up buying a brand new one because all of them that I saw on ebay ended within a couple hundred dollars of brand new.
Even if you’re moving to a year 'round cycling climate, it might still be worth hanging on to. Even in the summer, I do 2 of 3 weekly rides on my computrainer. Yea, riding outdoors is nicer, but not always as convenient. I don’t know what stage of life you’re in, but if you have a family, it’s nice to be able to get some rides in before work while everyone else is sleeping. This limits the impact of my training on my family. Plus, you can do specific effort type workouts indoors on the CT that are just harder to get done outside.
I spent several weeks following ebay auctions for computrainers. I was very surprised at how much people were willing to spend for a used one-often $1200-50. You should do well.
