Replacing Profile Design pads/arm rests

I’ve seen a few people use thick neoprene and Ceegees but I was wondering if ya’ll know of a product or home made way of making new arm rests. I CAN’T STAND the PD arm rests and LOATHE the pads. Why do they think three lumps is a good idea?

Currently I run them backward and it feels much better but still suck. Vision are nice and Oval look perfect, but who knows if they fit and 80 bucks for arm rests is just a bit silly.

Any ideas for new arm rests that fit on PD bars?

I have heard of people using mouse pads. Seriously.

I’d still go with Cee Gees for $20.

I know I feel you. It’s obvious Profile is not using riders for their design input b/c their arm pad design from the early 90’s to now is tantamount to a monkey fucking a football.

Cee Gees were my answer to the very first set of Profile clip ons and guess what…the story continues unfortunately. I do love their bar designs though. Too bad they can’t put some grey matter into their arm pads:(

Thanks for the referance to Cee Gees. I am in the same spot with needing to replace the pads. While the cushioning of the profile pads is lousy I do like how the f-19 pad uses a velcro strap to secure the pad to the armrest. I went to the Cee Gee website and they indicated they have a velro attachment system. Is it the self adhesive velcro or does it use some type of strap?

Any feedback on how secure the pad is to the armrest with the provided velcro?

Many thanks,
Greg

just ordered my first set of CeeGees after flattening a brand new set of PD pads in about 2hrs. I’ve always like their arm rests but the pads don’t last.

I have modified evey set I have ever owned.
Just get creative.

I was running thru PD armpads every couple of months as they totally flattened out very quickly. I moved over to CeeGees and have been very happy with them. I have been using the same pair for a year and a half. They work great and are cheap…you should give them a try.

What about new arm rests? I’m going to try some different things for the ads, but I don’t like the shape of the rests themselves.

Is there someone out there making aftermarket arm rests, not just pads?

I snapped one of my F-19 armrests when I went over a pot hole.

When I replaced them, I went with the upgraded F-22 armrests that come standard with the carbon version of the T bars (Cobra, Viper). Way more comfortable.

Before I put the F-22’s on I was ready to ditch my T2+ bars completely because they just weren’t working for me, but now I feel completely dialed in with them. The J brackets also allow you to set the pads lower than the standard set-up.

Edit - The F-22 pads also seem to have a little more meat on the base of them, so I think it is less likely that I will snap another set.

My only complaint - Why in the hell does the F-22 replacement pad cost twice as much as the F-19???

Try Fizik.
