Repairing Wetsuit Zipper, Came Apart :(

Well, its a sad day for me today, I got to my race late, forgot my helmet, so I borrowed one, forgot my nutrition, but barely made it to the water on time. As I was running to the starting line, my last obstacle was to zip my wetsuit. To my dismay, my zipper rolled up my back, but came off the track as it reached the top. I still jumped in the water and completed the swim, but when I jumped on my bike, my shoes did not match the pedals on the bike I was riding today. The TRI gods did not want me to race today.

SO, my question is, how do I repair a separated zipper on a wetsuit. I have a 2XU wetsuit if that helps any. Does anyone have any suggestions. If I could do it myself, I would much prefer that as opposed to taking it somewhere.

Can’t help on the free ideas, but I took mine (QR) to a luggage repair shop and they had no problem fixing it. I’ve also had them replace a zipper on a wetsuit and it was only $15. Surfshops/Diveshops are the other logical solution depending on where you live.

I live near San Dimas, California. I’m not sure if there’s anything near my area.

Ouch. Good day  (I second the dive shops or outdoors shops recommendations for repair.)

You live in LA and you’re not sure if you’re near a surf shop?

Not free but I’d be sending the suit to Desoto, they do repairs on all wetsuit brands and I believe offer a warranty on their work.
