i didnt see one on list

I rented a minivan when I went to the Gals Slowtwitch get-together last year. I was picking up Trailbait at the airport and we each had bikes with us. Although I hate minivans, I have to say it worked really well. It would have been tight with just a full size car.

Depends on the car.

Some sedans you can get a bike box in the trunk and one in the back seat. Don’t be fooled by the size of the sedan, some standard and larger sedans can’t take a bike in the back seats or in the trunk. It really depends on the fit. A mini van would be the ultimate solution, but it’s going to cost more to rent unless you get some form of no-cost upgrade.

Try an element, if you can rent one.

Whenever I travel with a bike, I get a minivan. The travel box fits, the seat can be flattened or removed so the bikes can be placed within, and there is plenty of space for changing. I always pack some bungy cords and a 1 x 4 piece of wood (about 3.5 foot long) with a fork bracket attached - bike(s) stay stable in the back of the van.

IF you can accomplish these in a dedan, then get one. I also hate minivans, but they accomplish the goal.

Rented a Ford Escape for IMFL…Worked Perfect.
and I drove it like I stole it!

For Halfmax, we rented a minivan and it worked out great for us. We had three adults (and their luggage), two bikes, a baby with a car seat, and a stroller. We were ready to move in when we finally got there. Orbitz seemed to have the best deals on the rental, btw.

Mini van is the way to go. Bought one just so I could transport the wife, kid, bike and a dog or two. Rent them when we fly too. Way easy to just toss stuff into when you’re done and in a hurry.

~Sorry, I missed the link where you stated what was available :frowning:
.

do they make a bike case for a pair of bikes??

I rented a trial blazer that fit two trico ironcases pretty well. Was cheaper then rollen in a mini

I rented this. It was just me and one bike inside, but it could have easily fit two.

The Element is a great tri vehicle; rear seats fold up to the sides and out of the way, OK gas mileage, too.

We try and get a Taurus - both bike cases slide right in the back seat. Need to move the front seat forwards, but the cases in, then you can move the seats back. Usually cheaper than a minivan or SUV. I think the cases we have are Trico - ups shippable size.

I always pack a little rope in case the both cases don’t go in the back seat. then one goes on the trunk with it open. Little rope and good to go.

It will take 3 bikes with a little stategery, but remember when you do that you only get 2 passangers.

Or, you could get one like this:
