My brother just bought his renn disk. It does look good , sounds cool BUT at MIM he averaged 23.? MPH. He is usually around 21.? MPH on a shorter course. He beats me on the swim and run but I usually have the faster bike. Now with the renn he’s improved a lot. Is this fair?
It seems obvious to me that this is completely unfair! I think you should get that disc this minute, pack it up, and then ship it to me immediately so that my wife can also enjoy the such an unfair advantage!
Michael
No it is not fair. You can make it fair by buying your own though… ![]()
Show him up…pay thousands more for the minmal weight savings of a Ghiblli.
2 mph faster cause of a disc? mmmmm…I dunno. Are they flat or lenticular?
Are you trying to suggest that my brother also snuck in some extra training? I’m telling mom.

Too bad you have to wait many frustrating months to get one. I put in my order a long time ago and I’m still waiting! 75% of my season will be over in June so I hope it gets here soon!
Well, that describes most of the industry at this point. While I do empathize with you since we are waiting on literally hundreds of things that are delayed here in the store, I will make this observation:
Last November everyone knew this race season would come. That would have been the best time to order the necessary equipment since lead times being long in race season are nothing new.
How does the saying go? “A lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.”
Please do not be cross with my reply, I do understand what you are saying and you are right. However- everyone sees these delays in our little industry every year. They are nothing new. Another thing that is not new is that each year everybody acts like the delays are something new.
I find that curious.
Wouldn’t a manufacture be smart to up production one year? I understand you don’t want to over produce, if product A is available and product B is not, you might increase sales. How many people don’t buy the bike or wheels they want because they are not available for six months?

I’ll try to practice restraint on this one. I don’t see how ordering something three months in advance is lack of preparation. I just think that people should be aware that when they recommend someone buy a Renn wheel, in my expereince, the lead time is so long that there is no way they will get one this season.
Do you already have Christmas presents for your girlfriend bought? I doubt it and I bet if you ordered them in September you’d expect them to be there by the week before Christmas, right? Better not wait that long - order them now! ![]()
what’s your name? the oldest order we have is 3/31/04. this is for a tubular that we told the customer when it was ordered it could be 5-7 weeks. clinchers are right at 3 weeks right now but we still quote 3-4. we qoute tubs at 5-7 week now but it should also be sooner. if it’s ordered through a shop you might want to check with them. i’m not perfect. i have misplaced orders in the past but we always make up for it.

In addition, perhaps some have never considered a disc till reading the claims on this message board. then they want one, and cant get one.
next time he’s out with the disk throw a stick into his front wheel spokes!! LOL

Thanks - I’ll check with my shop. 5-7 weeks is reasonable…
if someone needs a new 575 renn disc right away, one that has posted bike splits of 1st, 3rd and 4th overall in the three races it’s done, I guess i would let mine go for say $475.
Frank,
I ordered my Renn disc 700C Clincher with Campy hub through Bicyclesports in Tyler Texas on March 8, 2004. I still haven’t received it yet. This is a source of much frustration. Does your comment that your oldest order is from 3/31/04 and that clinchers are taking only 3-4 weeks mean that Bicyclesports never placed an order for this wheel from you or that you have already shipped this wheel? If you have already shipped this wheel, when was it shipped?
Your assistance in identifying the root cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.
