Removing a long sleeve wetsuit while wearing a 310XT

In a tri, is it hard to get a long sleeve wetsuit off while wearing a Garmin 310XT? I ask because the 310XT is quite big. Do you wear the 310XT over the sleeve or under it? Do you take off the 310XT, take off the wetsuit and then put the 310XT back on?

I don’t find it to be that big of a deal. I put my wetsuit half over it. You definitely don’t need to take the watch off. It is more of a pain than no watch at all but overall I wouldn’t worry about it.

I was a bit worried about this myself and have been playing with it. It really does not matter, I can take my suit off no problem with it on just kinda pull a bit hard and it snaps right over the thing. I have started swimming with the sleeve half covering the 310 but by the time I am done it has slid off.

I have the 310xt and was just thinking “Why swim with it?”

It doesn’t provide any information about the swim except maybe time.

point is to wear it for the entire race. Not that I did not survive without it but it is kinda nice to have one toy on your arm the whole time without having to deal with the logistics of turning it on/putting it on sometime during the race. The auto multisport thing is pretty cool. each time I hit a mat I will hit the lap button and then it will show me what I want. Time for the swim, power, hr and cadence on the bike and then pace, lap pace, hr and time for the run. I will really only be better when it is smaller.

I have a 310XT. I did a tri this weekend but I didn’t put it on until the beginning of the run. I found it hard to put on; the band took quite a bit of effort to go into the keeper. It was frustrating and certainly frustration is not something one wants in a tri. I figure it might be better to put it on at the beginning of the race, even though there would be no HR during the swim, when I have more time.
