Sort of a dumb question, but this has been driving me up a wall. Are digital scales any more accurate and reliable than traditional dial or analog scales? Not sure if it matters if they are or not because I’m almost set on getting a digital scale because I like to see if I weigh 174.5 instead of using binoculars to see if I weigh 174 or 175. I’m not too concerned about measuring my body fat since that doesn’t seem too reliable but just want a good reliable scale I can count on to not be off or is that even possible? Also, anyone have any insight as to whether one tends to be more accurate over another long term?
Mine is, I got one of the $45 ones from Target a bit back. For about a week, I was weighing myself both at the gym after a workout (One of the doctor type scales with the sliding weights), and then at home, and they were within 1/4 lb of each other.
You can get kind of skewed results if you use it on carpet, but stick it on tile/linoleum and you should be fine.
