Ok, I have to get a new vacum before our POS drives us nuts. Thinking about a Dyson since I remember Tom D sayin he liked his. Couple of things Has to be powerful and be able to pickup dog hair (we have 3) so it can’t be easy to clog etc. all my floors are hardwood /tile with some rugs but no carpet I like the idea of refurbed. I will spend 300-400 but don’t want to go more than that.
I’ve indeed had fine luck with my refurbished Dyson. It was $249.99 if my memory serves me correctly. I’ve had it for a while now and it is going strong. That is saying a lot since my vacuum gets pretty hard use.
It is pleanty strong enough to suck up cat hair and generally pretty easy to operate.
-No complaints whatsoever. I consider these too expensive if you buy new but a good deal if you shop the factory refurbished one. In keeping with my cheapskate mentality I bought the cheapest model- it is still the same basic unit as the pet- hair version (the purple one, I have the basic yellow one) but without the pet-hair attachment that can be purchased seperately.
Costco sells them much cheaper than other retail outlets. We have two corgis and our carpets seem to be a 50% mix of carpet and pet hair. The dyson does a wonderful job. When you first use it you will curse your old vacuum and you next thought is “damn I am dirty”. Refurb or new you cannot go wrong.
