i always seem to get this one zit to the right of the bottom of my nose when i am training lots. it’s really annoying. anyone else get recurring zits when they are a lil run down from training?
ive had a few boils on my chin this year…maybe i have something and should try antibiotics…mabe too much strss from training or sugar or??..its not bad bit they come and go
.
Perhaps the path of sweat causes skin problems right there or maybe you tend to wipe your nose face in a certain manner or place to cause this. IMHO, acne is usually a result of dehydration to some degree. But I’m no doctor.
Use some antibacterial stuff on it or some girly stuff to clear the pores.
Or wait for puberty to finish
Get off the juice…it’s bad for you, and illegal…
One word…PROACTIVE! That is the product sold on TV by Jessica Simpson. It works…its amazing, a little drying but if you use it your acne will clear. I use it on my upper back where my long hair keeps my skin damp when running. I use it differently than suggested, I use it like a bandaid for about 4-5 days when I have a flair then back off…this is because it is so drying. It also comes with a “mask” you can spot use at night for annoying little zits.
PM me if you have any questions.
PS…I never had any acne until I turned 36…

That’s what I was gonna say…get off the juice man!
make sure you wash your face in the morning, and after you train, and rinse your face with water before you go to bed.
do not put drying products on your face. your skin needs to be cleaner, not drier. i cannot emphasize that enough. dry skin can enhance problems for breakouts. breakouts come from unclean skin and pores, so that’s what you need to address.
i had adult acne problems until i started with Lancome.
http://www.lancome-usa.com/_us/_en/catalog/skincare_clarifiance.htm that is the cleanser i use, and have had less than 5 pimples in 5 or 6 years. it literally cured me. it made a huge difference in my life!
drink plenty of water, and stay off of sweets until you get this cleared up.
the other soap i’ll recommend is less expensive than Lancome. and that is an Olive Oil soap by Kiss My Face: check it out at http://www.kissmyface.com/CategoryNav/Kiss+My+Face/Olive+Bar+Soaps/2/
you’ll see the Pure Olive Oil soap, as well as one with honey. both are good and at times i’ve used these when i was out of Lancome, etc, and it worked great.
the other advice i have is to stay away from Oil of Olay cleansers, and other drug store products. many of them are harsh and will only enhance your problems. do not try teenage acne products. those products are miserable on the skin, and don’t work. in fact, they do more harm than good (IMO).
ok, i have more to add.
are you getting breakouts on the rest of your body?
the soap you use on your body should be gentle enough to use on your face. dial, ivory, dove, all of those products are actually quite harsh. anything with a strong scent is going to be irritating.
the Kiss My Face olive oil soaps are all great. they’re natural and not full of chemicals that will cause skin irritation.
as the winter comes on the air will get drier. what you use in the shower will be even more important, especially since all of us tend to shower more than the average person due to all of the workouts.
so, here is a list of skin saving soap brands. it can make all of the difference!!! Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps. www.drbronner.com Kirk’s Original Coco Castille Soap. www.kirksnatural.com any unscented glycerine bars that you’ll find in natural food sections. oatmeal bars in the natural foods section Clearly Natural www.clearlynaturalsoaps.com Kiss My Face soaps and bath gels www.kissmyface.com Jason http://www.jason-natural.com/home.php
no. it’s just on my face, just above the parts where i shave above my lip.
now i urgently need advice on how to get rid of it as I have a hot date tomorrow! well or thursday…
it seems to have gotten worse. might be time to stop using clearisil foaming face wash as it doesn’t seem to help!
They also seem to be real itchy? It’s weird. Hate feeling like I’m 13/14 again.

geeze oh petes. what did i say?
i said–stay away from those teenage products, they simply do not work and actually make things much worse.
now throw out that Clearasil shit before your face explodes.
do yourself a favor and just order the lancome cleanser that i already posted. spend the money; not having a pizza face is well worth it. if your skin feels any kind of dryness 20 minutes after using the lancome cleanser, PM me so i can make a recommendation for a moisturizer. i highly doubt that you’ll have any dryness, but if you do, just PM me. every skin is different.
and don’t even tell me one more time that you have used XYZ teenage acne product. you might as well put Comet on your face.
I concur with you about the teenage acne products. I work in a dermatology clinic one afternoon per week (I’m considering it as a career). When I started training heavily I developed the worst acne. I was so embarrassed. Never had a pimple in high school, but as a 27 year old it was terrible. My skin was disgustingly oily all of a sudden. Doc put me on Differin (prescription). Took about 1.5 months to kick in, but the stuff works like a dream. My only problem now is that my face is super dry, but I can handle that…

we go through alot with sweat, sun, multiple showers, etc. the pores need cleaned and moisture to maintain balance. not having those things causes breakouts.
now that you’re on track, i wonder if you had the right skin care program that included an effective yet gentle cleanser, sun screen, night time moisturizer, etc, what would happen. (minus the medication).
unfortunately, i got on the skin care wagon a little too late. while i don’t really have wrinkles, i do have spots and un-even skin tone. as i mentioned, lancome cured my breakouts. but the spots are from extended usage of birth control and sun exposure. one of these days i’ll get treatment to fix that, but thankfully perscriptives make-up remedies the un-even color for now.
i won’t use that stuff until i see my parents. they are both pharmacists…i’m not gonna spend heaps right now, i’ll just suck it up and try to impress this girl in ways other than my perfect skin…
kitty what makes you an expert?
i was on minomycin/minocyclin as a teenager.
coincidentally the best my skin has ever been was when i was just running…i think its the swimming that stuffs my skin up.
Honestly, my skin was so oily that even thinking about moisturizer or sunscreen made me break out! (and yes, I only buy products that are non-comedogenic, of course). I don’t plan to be on it forever, so I’m sure I’ll find a better combination of products in the future. The bonus of Differin, however, is that as a retinoid it also treats wrinkles. Bonus!
Jodi
ps- I buy the sun damage argument 110%, but where do you get the thought that birth control affected your skin tone? Has this been studied?
never said i was an “expert”.
I’m just somebody who had similar problems and spent the last 6 or 7 years researching, buying shit and testing it, etc.
what i was telling you is what worked best for me and actually others i know.
yeah, it’s been studied. and it’s hormone related.
very oily skin–it’s hard to have a sunscreen not react with that. it is true that some people do not need to moisturize. cleanser, it’s so important.
do you think i should stay away from all skin products until it clears up? shaving seems to irritate them, altho the zits are actually above the shaving line, but some aftershave balm prob gets on it. also using moisturiser etc would appear to irritate it? so cept for sunscreen stay away from other stuff?
