Recovery shoe

What shoes do you like after workouts (running in particular)? Do you prefer more heel raise, or less and is there any reason why? More or less cushioning? More or less structure? Does it all come down to personal preference, or is there something that is better than another for biomechanical reasons?

Thanks.

I’ll wear whatever is appropriate for my post exercise activity. Really doesn’t matter for me.

I have been wearing the Nike Free Run and Othaheel flip flops as my “recovery” shoe - pretty much to and from my workouts and races. Saucony has some exciting things in store - I think you’ll start seeing their recovery product in May.

After I cool down I get on my butt as fast as possible and get my legs up. I do a lot of my running at lunch and I have a box under my desk to prop my legs on afterward. If I don’t have the option of sitting then I keep a pair of running shoes on. Still, it is best to get off your feet and let your body get to work on recovery.

Recovery shoe?

Recovery shoe?
My thought exactly. Is it now safe to say that, as a subculture, we’ve moved beyond compression socks?

Do you wear plastic bags on your feet after you take your running shoes off? My guess is you probably wear some kind of shoe.

I wasn’t specifically asking about shoes marketed towards recovery, just running shoes or whatever you put on your feet after running (even plastic bags).

lol…well usually I shower, watch tv maybe get lucky with the wife. All the while, in my bare feet. Otherwise, I wear what is appropriate for the situation/time of year.

I wear a pair of big cushiony white high tops. Seriously. Straight out of the 1980s. With a big velcro strap and everything. Everyone laughs at me for wearing them because they look ridiculous but they are crazy comfortable.

Really?

I take a pair of old running shoes, ones that have just come out of usage rotation, but not yet relegated to yard work duty, put in some speed laces, keep the laces pretty loose, and use them for post run foot attire. They are easy on, easy off, comfortable, I can still run after the kids in them, and if I trash them trying to catch a careening 3 year old from doing a Superman over the bars of his bike, I don’t worry about it.

Works for me. (Don’t tell Bunnyman or the bunny museum.)

Compression , ice bath shoes.

Really?I’m wearing a pair of Salomon RX Relax right now, recovering from a whopping 30min run.
They are nice but I wouldn’t spend a lot of time or money to get another pair. Wife got them on supersale.

I slip into the same pair of shoes I wore for work and make my way home. Currently running a pair of black Testoni’s, though now I wonder if the softer leather of a pair of Berluti’s would help my recovery…

Recovery shoes, sweet lord whatever next?!?!

I wear my vibrams five fingers after a long run, ie did 20 yesterday
