Sometimes he goes through phases like that. I think he uses the Forum just to vent, not to get anyone’s attention or for reaching out.
I gathered Footballmom was in contact with him or trying to make contact.
I hope all is OK. It would be nice to hear from him. It sounded like an awful night he was having.

Nothing for two days. Not good. I’m worried.
What do we do if we can’t find him? How can we tell if this guy is OK? Do any of you guys actually know him in the real world- know where to check in on him?
It’s been on my mind constantly. I keep checking my emails and Slowtwitch to see if he’s responded. I’m really, really sad. He hasn’t logged on since his last post Friday night - Saturday morning. I wish someone know where he lived and could check on him.
I checked the log of his posts and considering he rarely ever misses a day to post and most days appear to be over 10 posts, I would say there is a serious red flag here. I hope someone he knows has checked in with him and taken him to someone who can care for him.
I just googled the guy, someone named Chip Griffen from Loves Park, IL did a triathlon in Wisconsin last summer. Also a Chip Griffen did the IMLP last summer from Covey Ridge IL. Ironman Wisconsin 2003 from Rockford IL If someone wants to try and 411 him there it might work. I doubt Chip is his given first name though.
Can anyone at least confirm that’s this is him? If so, I’ll use my law enforcement contacts to track him down and do what’s referred to as a “welfare check.”
as far as I know he has always used the name Chip in his posts so this is him as far as I know

I can’t find anything for a Chip Griffen (except what is found on google) in the area of rockford Il. Does anyone have a phone number… that’d help.
I think the webmaster for this site would have info on the approximate region the poster or post originated. I’ve seen Slowman make references to a poster’s approximate whereabouts before based IP address or other.

Loves Park is right next to (a suburb of?) Rockford. That’s the right guy.

I just did a google search and found the above - 200337 is apparantly his USAT number - I don’t know if anyone can use this to try and find a way to contact him.
