Can any of the San Francisco/Bay Area residents recommend a good swim coach? I live in San Francisco and work in Redwood City so, I’d prefer to go to a coach in those areas.

Tim Sheeper. One of the originals.
Monty is good friends with Tim, but he’s one of the stalwarts of the sport. Been doing it forever. And swimming is his real speciality.
The Olympic Club is by far the best swimming program in the city for kids or adults. Downtown at Sutter and Taylor street.

I can vouch for Sheeper. Raced against him in '87 (actually we were both at the same event - he was fast then, and is now), and many times since. He knows swimming.
I believe he uses the Burgess pool in Menlo Park, just a few minutes south of Redwood City.
