Recommendation: co2 Inflator for valve extender

I’m looking for a CO2 inflator that works wells with valve extenders on a racewheel. Anyone has one that they use that they can recommend?

Bump cause I have the exact same question.

I hate my current inflator, the press down kind with no control of flow. I prefer the screw type flow controller. I also use valve extenders/removable cores & wanted something that wouldn’t unscrew them with using a moderate amount of torque.

I’m looking at a Lezyne that gets great reviews but €23 sounds a little spendy for a mass produced piece of machined alloy

Not what you asked - but I used to use the zip vale extenders that required a special pump

Now I use the removable core valve extenders which allow me to use my regular pump / co2
.

I use this:

Valve extenders are Slica Removable Valve Extenders with 4 wraps of Teflon tape at the extention and the core
.

I’ve used this guy for probably the last 12 years. I ditched the bottom piece that hold the cannister in place so you have to use threaded C02s, but it’s worked on all of my wheels, H3 to disc to 60/90 with extenders etc.

I gave the screw on adapters a try but even after applying teflon tape in an attempt to seal leaks, I never had much success due to the design limitations of the thread-on style adapters, so I also went to tubes with removable valve cores and used extenders that relocated the valve core. Now to answer the OP’s question, the best CO2 inflator I have found is the Portland Design Works Shiny Object

Used this for years.

Throw it on the end, squeeze it in place, untwist canister to regulate airflow.

Has worked on my disc without needing a crack pipe, and on my 90mm front with valve extender.

Good to know because I got the Portland Design Shiny Object last week and put it in my pod on the road bike and also got this Pro Bike Tool CO2 Inflator and have it for the tri bike. I haven’t used either yet and hope they work when the time comes. Both seem to be decent quality and good reviews. The only thing negative about the Pro Bike inflator is the size. It fits well in the Calpac, but not in the pod for the road bike so if space is super tight the Shiny Object is the one.

I use the inflator below. you hold it on the valve but you twist the cartridge to inflate or stop the inflation.
