Could someone recommend sunglasses without a frame on top-- every pair I try rides down my nose in the aero position, so that the top of the frame is in my field of vision.
Oakley Zeros work great for me - they have a huge rubber nosepiece so they wont slide anywhere, and the lenses go up past your eyebrows so you keep your field of vision shaded when you’re looking high. Can’t reccomend them enough. The red/pink lenses are great too - Ive never been in a light condition, from before dawn and past twilight, than I felt they were too dark or too light.
Rudy Project Maskeryna. I have them and love them. I tried on some Oakley Zero’s with my TT helmet on (LG Prologue); they were very uncomfortable. I find that the Rudy’s fit much better and offer great visibility in the aero position.
I should add that I am female, with a small face and bump-less nose.
I have these from Performance:

They work better than anything else I have tried. They are not nearly as cool as the others that have been recommended. But use a 20 percent off coupon and they will run you under 25 bucks for 3 lenses and the frames. You can put the $$$ you save toward a Renn disc.
aaaaah the small face bumpless nose type;) Come to Hawaii, you will be welcomed;)
Gotta second the Oakley Zeros as their large nosepiece works wonders on bumpless noses (Asian???). Plus they are super light, have the sweetest optics out there, look great (well the Zeros look kinda funny sometimes…), and come in some cool lense tints. Otherwise I think you can adjust the nosepieces on the Rudy Projects which might work for you. Nike used to make an “Asian Fit” nosepiece version of a lot of thier glasses which was designed for zero nosebridge people and thier Skylon series has no top frame (think it’s the Skylon series).
On regular glasses the Oakley M-Frames work great with flatter faces and after you get over the look you’ll never go anywhere else. They work fine for me in a TT position. The Half-Jackets are also available with an optional “Asian Fit/extended nosepiece” which makes them work well on zero nosebridge faces as well. It’s almost impossible to find these pieces though, PM me and I can send you some if you ever need them.
Oh and btw, I happen to be sponsored by the big O so yes there is a pattern to the above;) But it’s all true, Ilove thier stuff and it is the best stuff in the world (well maybe not some of thier really really funky stuff). Good luck=)
I like these…
I like the Oakley Dartboard. Most big glasses slide down my nose or the ear pieces are too long and make the glasses lift off my face when I put my helmet on. These stay in place, have good coverage, and don’t get moved around by my helmert straps. As Tai said the optics are awesome.
Get a pair of Versace’s. They only run a few hundred $$$ and will make you far cooler than the average triathlete.
Oakley Pro M-Frame, period.
Helmet with face shield…they never slip!
Ziva,
Oakleys are great and I don’t have much experience with Rudy project but Adidas makes several technical frames without any frame material on the top. The Cubic Lush is one and the Shield is another. These frames in next year’s model will also have adjustable temples so you can align them better for viewing in the aero position. Check them out on their website (adidas.com/eyewear I think) as they come in a whole pile of colours.

second vote for the Dartboards

Rather than starting a new thread, I wanted to bring this one back. My problem is that with many pairs of sunglasses I’ve tried, I end up looking over the top of the frame in the aero position. I have an old pair of Bolle’s that work well, but they don’t have interchangeable lenses. The Oakley Zeros look like they would work, but you can’t swap lenses, right?
What about Rudy Project glasses: Kerosene, Rydon, etc? Would I be looking over the top of these in the aero position?
Thanks for any more input on this topic!

here you go, all you’ll ever need for sunglasses. I think the beer googles would be best.
i had the same problem until i got my smith toaster sliders. i love them.
The specialized bike glasses are full frame except the top so you can see over. They are also chromatic and change with light levels. The Oakley Dartboards would work good (I tried them, but I felt a little too much like J-lo wearing them) as well.
How about some tinted celophane wrapped around your head - would be pretty aero as well ;)>
Rudy Project Rydons have an adjustable nose piece that you can pinch to get the desired width/size. I’m on my second pair now - would not use anything else for riding on the Tri bike.

I had the same problem with my Oakley M frames. I got Oakley Zeros problem solved.
Train safe & smart Bob
Those could work plus they are at least a 9 out of 10 on the bling scale…
