Recommend Amazon prime documentaries

While killing time, I’ve seen several cycling documentaries on prime and a few hockey ones. Can you recommend a few or more than a few to pass some time.

Thanks in advance and stay well.

Bigger thanks to any medical workers, truckers, grocery store employees, small business owners and others dealing with this on the front lines to keep things moving for us.

The Barkley Marathons: The Race that Eats it’s Young (most people have seen but worth a mention

Meru - great Jimmy Chen documentary about climbing/mountaineering

Steep - if you have any interest in skiing. Not teen focused at all.

Breaking 60 - about an ultramarathon, in Hong Kong, that had not previously been successfully completed (I believe that’s the case. It’s been a while since I watched it)

I enjoyed Eat, race, win, if it’s still available
It was a 6 episode series
Sort of a behind the scenes of a pro teams food prep for the tour
.

Fine Lines
Tough Guy

“My Italian Secret” is fantastic.

i dont think these 2 are on prime but are my next 2 quarantine indoor trainer shows

  1. netflix in canada just put out “the least expected day” - inside the movistar team - looks good

  2. I never saw this in 2018 so will watch now: https://www.wonderfullosers.com/

Hell On Wheels (Team Telekom)…Old one. I enjoyed it years ago, not widely released:

And one about Netapp small cycling team at Giro via wildcard:

Amazon has “Ride to Extraordinary.” It’s about 6 20-30 minute episodes. It’s about a bike “race” across North Georgia, through some pretty dense forest and gnarly trails. I thought it was really well done.

Well worth watching:

Watched “Time Trial” on Prime this week, it’s pretty good.

And thanks, I’m a retail pharmacist in a grocery store. last was brutal. This week was much better.

Just watched Hell of the North (County) on Prime about the Belgian Waffle Ride that was good.

If you have a device and can watch Red Bull channel, they have some good cycling content

I received an email saying everything on NBC sports gold is now free to access. I haven’t looked yet and am not sure if having one of the current subscriptions is a stipulation. I have the cycling access pass, but it sounds like now I can watch all of the other stuff.

“Fat”- a really good documentary documenting how we got to our current nutrition standards. Fascinating stuff!

Link to personal web cam? 🤣

As somebody pointed out “The Least Expected Day” is on Netflix. About Movistar’s 2019 season. Subtitled for English, but good.

If you like music documentaries, “20 Feet From Stardom” is on Netflix. A. great documentary about backup singers.

Well worth watching:

Got an error that copyright laws won’t allow US viewers to watch it. ;(

That’s a pity - it’s an interesting film. Well worth searching it out if you can get it another route.

Not on Amazon prime but Gary Robin’s “Where dreams go to die” is on YouTube. Part vlog part documentary, I really enjoyed it.

Edit: sorry I didn’t realize you were only looking for cycling documentaries.

I second the Barkley Marathon doc and Breaking 60.
If you like stick and ball sports, the All or Nothing doc series are really good. My fave being Manchester City Football (soccer) Club.
I don’t remember if they’re on Prime or YouTube but the Billy Yang WS100 docs are pretty interesting.

no worries, I’ve been through some good hockey ones. Sometimes exposure to a new sport is even more interesting than ones you know a lot about. thanks
