Reattach carbon fairing on HED Jet wheel

Hi Slowtwitch,

I have a HED Jet 5 that was damaged in transit. There’s a dime-sized dimple in the fairing on one side, and the fairing detached in that area too (about 3-4 spoke sections). I would like to fix it. Has anyone done this before?

I can feel and see the glue or epoxy that originally held it on the rim. Should I scrape this before I try to reglue it? With what should I attach it? Here is a pic (sorry for the fuzziness, camera’s not great close up)

Thanks,

Yikes! Try dropping a line to HED and see if they have any tips.

I have been fairly successful covering dings in the fairing of HED wheels with just a bit of electrical tape. Never had the fairing actually detach but suspect that any epoxy or superglue type of approach should work.
