I’m an overpronater recovering from PF and still working though a 9 month minor bout of AT (both feet). I just started wearing orthotics for running about a month ago (was wearing them in my work shoes for about 6 weeks prior). I had my orthotics ‘adjusted’ on Wednesday. The Dr. trimmed the arch a little bit and added small pad under my left big toe (I think a fix for a Neuroma). It was 110 degrees out on Thursday so I ran a fairly hard 5k on the indoor track with nothing special to report about it. That night I go out to dinner, come home, take my shoes off and I notice that the back outside of my left foot is numb and is tingly when I touch it. It still is right now. The numbness is only on the top/bottom of my heel and around the outer part of my foot until about midfoot. It goes up to just below my ankle bone. It doesn’t appear to be numb under my foot. There is nothing visual to it and no evidence of any injury. I figure something must be pinched but it seems like such a focused area that I am puzzled. I haven’t been able to get in touch with my Podiatrist because he is currently training for IMWI and is somewhat difficult to get in touch with at the moment. Any thoughts? I have an Oly coming up next weekend and want to make sure that I don’t do anything that might result in an injury.
Thanks!
