Just found my DA Di2 rear derailleur cage is bent. Been having shifting issues for a couple weeks and just realized it was bent. Looking online, it looks like you can only buy the whole derailleur or the pulley wheels themselves. Is there any way to just get the cage portion of the RD including the pulley wheels?
If you have a Shimano dealer around I’d suggest asking there. Shimano parts typically can’t be found online in the US.
I lost the stopper screw on a 7970 cage and it was not available separately. The price for the outer half of the cage was over $100. I ended up finding a screw that would work.
If you use the Shimano part numbers with Shimano Dura Ace 9070 or similar in a Google search it will yield some offerings from the UK and elsewhere overseas. A quick look listed these at £30 and £109. If you could find these from a shop over there that will ship to the US, the price wo VAT will come down some. But this is still quite a lot.
My recollection is that the outer cage is carbon. Maybe the inner too on the 9070. I’m surprised it/they would bend rather than snap. First thought was to scrap a DA 9000 RD, but the part numbers listed are different so no idea on compatibility.
I was hit by a car a few weeks ago and I can assure you all that a DA di2 derailleur cage does bend. Of course the big crack in the frame was of more concern…
I looked into this for a different reason: I have a perfectly good short cage Di2 derailleur but want to fit a 11-32 cassette which requires long cage.
LBS told me can’t simply switch cages, it’s a whole new derailleur. Which is like $400…
The inner plate of my Di2 9070 RD cage appears to be bent. It’s been rubbing slightly on the lower pulley wheel.
Did you have any luck sourcing parts #6 & 8?
Note: I’m currently in Europe so purchasing and shipping to Spain are not an issue.
TIA!
I have the same issue you have a few years ago. My 9070 Di2 cage is bent, being its made out of carbon I replaced it with a big pulled after market thing that got good reviews on ebay. Well my local shop cannot get it to work, so curiuous what you did?
Do I buy a new used 9070 Di2 derailer off ebay? Or a cage that might work?
