I ordered up two pair of the Santini Twist-Gel, or Gel-Twist, or whatever…about a month ago, maybe just over a month. I’d say each set has no more than 50-60 hours on them. When I was pulling one of them up about two weeks ago the seems on the right side, about level with the top of my lower abdominals, ripped and formed two little holes that were about 3/8" in diameter. Damn…that was about $90 for a solid three to four weeks (tops) of use. I’m still wearing them, as I have no other bibs, but they are getting worse. I blamed that one on myself, for not being gentle enough while putting them on.
However, today I noticed that on the other set of the same style bibs, there are now several holes on the left side where the seam is splitting. Ain’t that a bitch!? I’ve been babying them when I put them on ever since that first pair popped loose, and still this second set has gotten the same problem. I’ve now decided it’s not a case of user error, I just got bad bibs or these things aren’t as bulletproof as other posters led me to believe.
A few questions for you all…
How long do your bibs seem to last before they start breaking down to the point that you can’t use them anymore?
Does anybody have seamless bibs? This would seem to solve the problem I’m having with the Santini’s.
Tom D., did you already release your review of the super high-end bibs you were talking about several weeks ago? I’m suddenly in the market again…
