RAW Food Diet

Im interested in going on a raw food only diet for a week to help clense my body. Anyone know any good links to recipes, etc?

Check out runningraw.com, not a huge amount of info on the site, but there are many good links. Plus he’s a FAST guy! Like a 15:49 k5 the day after being runner up at a stair climb race fast.

well that isn’t going to work.

Really? this again?
it won’t work, what the hell is cleansing?
If you want to “cleanse,” then change your lifestyle because that’s the only thing that will work.

yep.

i eat raw for most everything except dinner, and i have an ultra friend who is a raw vegan…so you can be healthy and athletic on a raw diet…but doing a cleanse and then going back to the harmful foods you are trying to get rid of is a waste of time.

If you are interested in raw living, a good place to look is www.organicathlete.org. Recipes and a great community of athletes (including many multisport diehards) with a substantial number of them raw vegans.

But I do agree that short-term changes are of questionable benefit. More likely to make you feel worse. It doesn’t have to be about extremes. If you go totally raw for a week, at the end you could end up hating raw food and rebounding to your old diet. If you really want to try eating differently, implement the changes for at least a month. And start off by changing a few things at a time and seeing how you feel.

Good luck and make sure to report back on what you discover in this process.
