I’ve been getting sunburned on my back a lot. So thinking about buying a rash guard for swimming.
What do I need to look for? Obviously I want one with SPF protection. I notice there are rash guards for “surfing” - are they any different than the ones for swimming? I want one that will not constrict my stroke.
Thanks!
I’ve never worn a swimming rash guard but I have a few for surfing. I think they’re SPF 50 or something. As long as it fits you won’t have aproblem with constriction. Paddling is a big part of surfing and they are designd to keep you mobile.
I wear one for swimmming. The kind I wear is the same as a “surfing” rashguard. I got the idea from some of the women I swam with in Curacao. It’s a smart idea…specially if you are prone to burning. It shields my skin from the sun and is rated UPF 50+. It’s saved my back and shoulders particularly when I’m using a kickboard for drills etc. when my shoulders and back are more exposed.
PM or email Jay (Tribodyboarder or UnReale@aol.com ) he should have a lot of experience in this area and offers rasguards via his site.

I wore a l/s rashie for IMWA exactly to avoid getting burnt: www.girls4sport.com. I got mine customized too
(but I assume you are a boy, so check any surf gear sties). G4S’s rashies are SPF 65.
